Starting an OOC thread so I don't clog up the other ones with stuff that doesn't belong.

I find that I prefer having a character sheet on my phone for keeping track of characters. I found 2 options for Numenera:

1 - I found this fillable pdf of the Numenera character sheet

2 - I found an Android app that does custom RPG character sheets, called, accurately enough, "Character Sheet for any RPG". If anyone would like one, I can share the template file with them.

I feel kind of silly asking but... how did you all set up your character name above your username in your posts?

There's a small drop down box marked "Post as:" and you select your character.

As well, you can attach your character avatar inside your GamersPlane character sheet so it shows up when you post as Lyle. Give a shout if you need help with, it confounded me at first

I'm going to be slow-posting this weekend. We're prepping, completing, and cleaning up a moving sale, so my mind will not want to do anything creative until at least Sunday night. If I find a few neurons to rub together, I'll try to get something up.

Would Lyle be able to purchase proficiency with the shooter for his 4 xp?

You don't need to spend xp for that. Lyle is trained and all medium weapons and it's a medium weapon. Fire it a few times for dramatic effect to familiarize yourself with it and you're good.

Shooters
Lyle can use the weapon, but he will have an 'inability' which means that it will be with a Hindrance (+1 step difficulty). It is a medium ranged weapon, 4 damage up to Long range. There are two of these. Training (time) will allow these to become regular medium weapons.

OK! Thanks! Can I tell if it is loud or not? I didn't want to use if in the last battle because I didn't want to make too much noise. Also, are ranged weapons (bow,shooter) are Speed based? If so I'd like to use the 4xp to get a speed edge (If not I'll have to rething this!).

It won't be as loud as a gun, but louder than a bow. Definitely speed based for attacks.

I'm going to think about it for a bit, but I'll likely use those 4 xp to train out if my inability in salvaging numenera. I suspect Emmett will eventually be quite good at it as it fits his past well

I know I've been slow lately. I just finished a complicated month involving a move. Will be buying a computer desk this week so I can finish mobile posting.
