Also Adiutor did not seem to recognise the portal.

"I agree, repair first. And nor in a rush to get home. What kind of Wright would I be if I didn't take this opportunity to explore thus fascinating discovery?"

The trip takes nearly a day to travel. There are some inconveniences, it's hard to lay down as much of the interior is just missing. A few interior walls, comfortable seating, and this thing would be suitable for longer journeys. Maybe a privacy curtain for the head would be nice, but the less spoken about that the better.
[ +- ] Dilapidated ship
When you do arrive, the sun still a distance blazing spec, you see lights on an oddly shaped rock the size of a mountain. Other huge rocks shine in the sunlight giving only glimpses of their size and with no reference, no idea add to their relative distance.
[ +- ] Asteroid colony
Would Emmett like to make a piloting roll to land it yourself?
Jul 12, 2021 7:11 am
OOC:
I mean, yeah, of course Emmett would use his vast spaceship piloting experience to roll! He totally wouldn't try to fudge his way through it.
Emmett sees the approaching colony and a voice of anxiety speaks gentle fears into his mind. "Hey, uh, what kind of people live on this rock of yours, anyhow? They aren't gonna try to turn us into meat strips or somethin', right?"

As he approaches he pulls back on one lever, pushing forward on another in a practiced move that speaks to his years of "We'll figure it out as we go," and "Learn by doing." He figures he'll shortly learn if adjusting those levers was the right thing to do.
OOC:
That's...probably not good.

Pilot roll, no training - (1d20)

Perfect roll, nothing wasted. The assistant gives you an Asset on piloting and so you achieve a Difficulty 3 test.

Emmett has familiarized himself with the controls and with the AIs gentle prompting gets the thrust down to a safe speed, lines up the landing, enters the main landing garage, and sticks it with only a little bump. Four panels fly off and rattle to the ground.

Around you you immediately recognize the slug like humanoids you saw dead in the mine. They stop and cringe and the condition of your ship.

If you're paranoid about security, make a Perception roll. Otherwise, carry on.
OOC:
The hard SF savvy among you will recognize artificial gravity revealed through the narrative. Otherwise a rock this small would have nearly zero G.

OOC:
Totally noticed the ArtificialGravity.

Turana's eyes open wide when she recognized the features on the beings as the ones who got killed by the quintpods.. "Well.. the enemy of my enemy is my friend, at least that what they say, hopefully they wont shoot before making questions.. we might need to come out very slowly.." Turana's curiosity gets interrupted by a sudden thought.."Why were'nt we warned by the auditor? O Gods of the datasphere! what if it is trap!!??

While the strange beings seem puzzled by your arrival, the concerning part is the automated gun turrets in the ceiling locking on and focusing on your busted up craft.

One of the sluggos approaches. It speaks. Sort of.

"Hot damn!" Emmett claps his hands together. It doesn't sound right, more like slapping the flat of a blade than a clap, but Emmett doesn't seem to notice. He's too busy looking proud of himself.

"I'd bet even you couldna done better, you old junkheap!" He playfully bumps the console with his fist, expecting a retort from Adiutor.

Emmett doesn't seem have noticed the panels falling off their ship, either. He does notice the slug-people walking up. "Oh. Well. that's unexpected. Might be good news, though. They might have a portal back to Coop."

He looks out through a new, gaping hole in the paneling, listening to the creature before trying to communicate. He talks slowly, both hands held up to show they mean no harm. "Hey there, friends. We can be friends, right? Adiutor sent us. Ah-Dyoo-Tor." He points with one hand towards the console.
lightwielder says:
"Well.. the enemy of my enemy is my friend, at least that what they say.
Emmett side-eyes Turana and whispers. "Oh, I dunno, I feel like there's plenty of enemies to go 'round..."

Lyle watches the sluglike humanoids. He is careful not to show any signs of aggression but also wary should they decide to attack.\

Sorry were we able to take a rest during the voyage? I'm not sure if I should mark one off or if his was considered out long one

The journey took about a day, so you could certainly have used all your recovery rolls and replenished them, too.

OOC:
Cool, I'll assume Emmett blew all of his rests. Should be 1d6+1 per rest, 4 rest dice.
OOC:
EDIT: That's plenty to get him back up to speed, he only needed 10.

Adiutor says, "She said: 'Greetings, Earthlings,' with a hint of surprise."
Jul 14, 2021 8:57 pm
"Um... Adiutor can you tell them we mean no harm and are looking for a place to repair our magnificent vessel? Also, what do we call their people?" Lyle says, his curiosity getting the better of him. "I have so many questions."

"Well let's not overwhelm them with questions. Their customs may be foreign so we don't want to make any actions that might also offend them or trigger hostilities."
Jul 15, 2021 12:40 am
"Could you please agree?"

The alien 'woman' appears to become agitated and squeals off more alien gibberish. The overhead weapons turrets hum into full power.

The Adiutor indicates, "She kindly wishes to know where you obtained one of their particle weapons."
Jul 15, 2021 12:58 am
"Ah, that’s a sad tale. We came upon two of your kin- they were being stripped of their flesh by those five limbed parasites. We managed to defeat them- but I took this weapon in the hopes of defending myself should we come upon more of those beasts… The weapon is rightly yours and if you want it back then I understand." Lyle says trying to keep his words and mannerism as placid as possible.

Turana kept silent in order to evaluate her words before saying something she might regret
