"Let them come to us- Turana can throw her cypher and we can pick them off from a distance. Emmett wanna try this thing?" Lyle says holding up the shooter. Lyle then positions himself somewhere advantageous where the group could spring the ambush.

You can certainly climb into the ship, which would put Lyle two man-heights above the ground.

As to where the fight will take place, that all is up to how you want to set it up.

Of one of you would like to roll stealth for the whole team, I'll set up the combat and see whether you have a free surprise round before initiative.

The two quintpods shamble up to the scrap yard, heading for the area near the nest that you found. Their dragging a chunk of metal, like a girder from a bridge. Where they got that is obviously unclear.

When they get to the middle of your predetermined kill zone, they haven't spotted you, thanks to the expert checking that Emmett did once you were all hidden.

Turana has the lead, her cypher bomb the opening signal. She can describe that attack when she is able.

The rest of you can make your attack rolls now, but I'll process them after Turana's.

Mindslice

Turana slowly moves to find some cover behind the ship parts while keep her eyes on the creatures coming in .. she takes a long breath..she countsdown with her fingers on her free hand so the other ones can prepare..3-2-1. As silently as she is able, throws the cypher in the direction of the quintpods, as far away she can from the group but as close as posible to the place where those things congregate.. Ready to grab her club right after

Razor ring

Lyle climbs atop the craft and fires his bow at one of the Quintpods.

Turana heaves the bomb and it rolls to the feet of the two aliens. They look at it and it explodes. The blast blows purple smoke over their skin and immediately blisters them. Horrendous lessons appear.

Jaz acts on the trigger and Mindslices one for 3 damage (2 base +1 for the natural 17) that ignores armor.

Y'breq's razor ring misses but faithfully returns to their hand.

Lyle fires with his bow, and does two more damage to the more injured one (4 base less two armor). It drips to the ground, flopping in painful death throes.

Emmett is up. Everyone can roll Initiative as well. If you beat difficulty 4, you can act right away.

Emmett rolls over the pile of cabling he's hidden behind, ready to heroically lead the others in battle, hisilitary experience bringing them to victory. Seeing one quint fall and the other badly hurt before he's even approached causes his ego to deflate, shoulders sagging.

In a flash, he's recovered, though he hopes no one noticed his moment of weakness. He runs to the creature while it reels from the purple smoke, swiping low to trip the creature. Or, if he's lucky, turn it into a tri-pod, or a bi-pod.

Emmett slays the second faltering quintpod.

Combat is over.

Turana's bomb greatly weakened the creatures, allowing your ambush to strike them them quickly.

With the fight over and the possible gas dispersed, you return to work. You're not interrupted again before you complete adding the panels back onto the craft.

Soon it stands ready.
