Hearing the moaning noises, Gilly ceases her watch on the courtyard and readies an arrow to shoot at the shambling corpses!
OOC:
Did I see anyone approach through the gate? (Making space for new entrant, if needs be)

Bors prepares a graceful thrust at the first walking corpse to enter his range.

I jinxed myself by writing "graceful" :(

OOC:
@KCC69:
Gilly doesn't see anyone approaching through the front gate at the moment.
Bors "gracefully" stabs at the first corpse that spills out of the Storage Room, but graceful thrusts don't seem to be in his repertoire. The zombie doesn't even notice the attack.

Meanwhile Angel looses an arrow at the monster while the Man-at-Arms of the Trading Post hacks at the creature with his sword.

Angel's arrow hits it's mark but the zombie barely notices the hit. The Man-at-Arms's attack is quite another matter. His weapon nearly cleaves the monster's head from it's torso, as it diagonally cuts from the neck to nearly the right armpit. The Man-at-Arms puts his foot on his enem;y and uses it as leverage to pull his sword out of the undead entity.
OOC:
Round 10 continues. Turn order is as follows:
1. Gilly, Bors (7)
2. Angel (6)
3. Man-at-Arms (5)
--> 4. Maloria (3)
5. Eltrezar (2)
6. Zombies (2)

Rolls

Angel Attack roll, Damage roll - (1d20+1, 1d6)

1d20+1 : (18) + 1 = 19

1d6 : (5) = 5

Man-at-Arms Attack roll, Damage roll - (1d20, 1d8)

1d8 : (8) = 8

Deciding that Cuthbert can't do all her fighting for her, Mal swings her hammer at the dead man just behind the one her comrade turned into a taco...

Rolls

Attack, Damage - (1d20+1, 1d6+1)

1d20+1 : (12) + 1 = 13

1d6+1 : (2) + 1 = 3

Maloria struggles a bit to hit the one still inside the storage room from the angle she stands at but the hammer manages to find a piece of the zombie, though just barely. She hears a crunch as the shoulder socket of the monster crushes under her attack.
OOC:
Round 10 continues with Eltrezar finishing up for the party before the two undead shamblers get to take their turn chisseling at the boundaries of the killbox:
1. Gilly, Bors (7)
2. Angel (6)
3. Man-at-Arms (5)
4. Maloria (3)
--> 5. Eltrezar (2)
6. Zombies (2)
Jul 12, 2021 5:10 pm
With the undead finally within their trap, Eltrezar does his best to help out in combat. He flings a dagger through a gap in his teammates, but the awkwardness makes it quite difficult to aim.

Rolls

Attack - (1d20-2)

(16) - 2 = 14

Damage - (1d4)

(3) = 3

Jul 13, 2021 9:07 pm
Eltrezar's dagger sails right past Bors's left ear and embeds itself in the undead shambler's mouth, embedding itself in the back of the creature's throat. It gives a muffled "Gruugh..." in response, it's cracked lips wrapped around the dagger's hilt.

In response the zombie claws at the killbox perimeter surrounding it.
OOC:
The zombie will attack a PC using the following Target Selection numbers: 1=Bors, 2=Man-at-Arms, 3=Maloria.
The zombie attacks the man standing right in front of it, and luckily the fighter gets his shield up, just in the very nick of time and bats the monsters ragged hand away, realizing as he does so that in his current condition, had he still been carrying a torch he'd surely have been dead right now.
The zombie behind, unable to shove through the doorway of the Storage Room, can only push hungrily at its companion from behind.
OOC:
Round 10 ends; Round 11 begins! Turn order is as follows:
--> 1. Norris (6)
2. Maloria, Bors (4)
3. Angel, Gilly, Eltrezar (3)
4. Man-at-Arms (2)
5. Zombies (2)

"Bors!" shouts Mal,

"I'm gonna pass you a healing potion! Be ready to grab it!"
Jul 15, 2021 12:17 am
"Um, I don't have any free hands at the moment!" he says while slashing and blocking. "Also, what does it taste like? I hope it's not cherries, I hate cherries."
Jul 15, 2021 12:30 am
"You should be so lucky! Probably tastes like a priest's socks!"

With themselves acting as ranged backup for those that make up the killbox for the attacking undead, and not being forced to focus as intently as those in direct melee Gilly and Eltrezar's intention is suddenly grabbed by the approach of a rather roguish-looking man in leather armor and a shortsword in hand but not yet drawn approaching the stairs from the weathered and defunct Moathouse gates the party recently entered.
Suddenly the Man-at-Arms turns and spots the man as well and raises his sword, unsure of which threat to focus on first.

Round 11 continues. Mal and Bors are up now:

--> 2. Maloria, Bors (4)

Once again, Eltrezar flings one of his many daggers towards the nearest undead. Hrmph! 'These warriors make it look so difficult to throw around bits of metal willy nilly.' The dagger finds purchase, though empirical evidence has shown the ineffectualness of these piercing weapons against the scourge of the undead.
OOC:
Posting early because I'll be gone for a few days. If, for some incredible reason, there are no zombies left, Eltrezar will just chill.

Gilly let’s loose another arrow at the zombie before turning from the melee and calling out:

"If you’re with those men that lived here… well… they’re not here anymore…" she points to the bloodstained courtyard where they arranged the bodies yesterday.

OOC:
Okay, we got our orders messed up a little bit. I'm good with letting Gilly's and Eltrezar's turns go as rolled, but we'll wait until their turn. For the time being, Bors just went and now it's Maloria's turn. Then we'll squeeze in the halfling's and wizard's turn a rolled and roleplayed...

Bors swings for the undead before him but completely whiffs.

Maloria's hammer just misses the zombie in front of her, as does Bor's sword and Gilly's arrow. Eltrezar's dagger on the other hand hits it's target, and in addition to the dagger in the monster's mouth, a second one embeds in one of its eyes and it crumples to the ground in a mess of still limbs.

Angel moves a bit northward to get a better shot on the one just emerging from the Storage room and fires between Botrs and the Man-at-Arms. His arrow hits its mark and the arrow sinks itself in the creature's chest.

The Man-at-Arms then steps five feet in, slashes at the zombie but misses, and makes a fighting retreat back to his spot on the killbox.

The final zombie steps out of the Storage Room and attacks Maloria, but her armor easily defends her from it's tearing bony fingers.

While his right hand remained securely on the smooth round pommel of his sheathed sword, at the sight of the burly warriors shift into a ready-stance, the newcomer raised his other hand towards the group, flattened and palm-out as an attempt at soothing an otherwise volatile situation, "I'm not here with them, I'm here with me..." he explained, though he refrained from going into too much detail.

Clearly, the group had their hands full with the abominations, even with the evident progress they had made before his arrival. "I'll just have a seat right here while you all settle that..." he suggested with a curt nod towards the corpse. The lithe and slender fellow then took a seat on some random overturned block of stone or bit of rubble and crossed his arms patiently. It was evident he was in no rush.

Mal casts a quick look back at the new voice behind her but then notices the newcomer taking a seat and decides not to worry about it. Fending off the last zombie's blow, the dwarf lunges forward again with her hammer in retaliation...
