While Bors slashes at the zombie in front of him, he thinks over what words rhyme with "zombie" or at least start with a "z."

Bors and Mal attack the two zombies before them. Bors's sword slices through the chest of his target tearing open the decomposing flesh and allowing a slurry of rotted entrails to spill to the stonework at its feet. As it staggers at the attack, the fighter can't help but notice how much more effective his sword's slashing steel seems compared to the effects of the arrows piercing the monster in numerous spots already.

A short distance away, Maloria brings her hammer down upon the craniumof the corpse before her again and again, feeling a sense of satisfaction when the skull finally caves in and the final blow completely folds the vertebrae in it's neck. The zombie falls to the floor, truly dead this time.

Relieved at seeing one of these undead monstrosities fall, Eltrezar scurries to behind Bors and flings a dagger at the remaining zombie. He had not yet noticed the ineffectualness of the piercing weapons compared to other types, not that it would make a difference to the magister.

Rolls

Attack - (1d20)

Damage - (1d4)

(3) = 3

Eltrezar's dagger his the target with a thump as the blade buries itself in the zombies chest. It flinches before swiping a clawed hand at the fighter standing before him. Luckily for Bors the slash misses, as the raw bones of the creature's flanges extruding from the flesh of its fingertips appear sharp and lethal enough to tear a throat out with one grasp.

"There are two more coming up the hall!"

Angel steps forward so that Maloria no longer provides cover and fires another arrow at the zombie struggling with Bors. The missile hits to the same effect every other arrow has had.
Gilly's misses a shot, as her target has become difficult to see through the cover her companions are providing for it, but Bor's sword cleave's the monster's head off its shoulders and it collapses to the floor, returned to death's cold embrace for good this time.

Just as the feeling of celebration begins to fill each of you, Maloria throws a wet blanket on things and shouts that more zombies have joined the fight. She raises the holy symbol of Saint Cuthbert and channels her faith to turn these undead creatures, and feels completely in tune with the power of her deity. Not only does she see the immediate effects, as the two zombies in her Darkvision give a give a groan of agony and repulsion, but to her surprise she hears additional groans coming from a number of the open cells lining the west wall of the southern corridor.

Having dropped his torch in favor of using his bow, the Man-at-Arms is unable to see into the darkness beyond the torchers and lanterns, and has no view of the ones Mal has warned the others about, and will hold his turn. If the zombies are illuminated before the turn is over he'll shoot.

Hearing that more are on the way, Gilly lets out an irritated grunt and gets ready to charge into range with her short sword!

OOC:
If they're coming from open cells, is it reasonable to assume Bors could attempt to just shut the cell doors to trap them inside before they get out?

Eltrezar retrieves his daggers and finds a spot behind Maloria to get ready for any further trouble. Gilly switches to her short sword.

OOC:
I think Bors would probably know that these doors require a key to lock and unlock. If you had a key, I think you definitely could. But without the key to lock the cells they just sort of swing freely and hang open.
The undead creatures affected by Maloria's divine presence turn around and retreat from her. When suddenly she sees two more spill out of one of the cells, both unaffected by the clerical abilities she demonstrated.
OOC:
Round 3 ends with 2 zombies killed, and at least 2 more turned by Maloria, though groans in the side cells indicate that more unseen zombies were affected by Maloria's turning. Two more undead have joined the fray.

2. Angel, Maloria
3. Gilly (3)

Gonna move to Q19.
Hoping to get the zombies to split up, as well as having some defense from the pillar, Bors moves up and east and prepares for (hopefully only one) zombie to come to him. "Fan out and let them come to us. Two or three to a zombie.."

Bors moves to the east side of the room hoping to split up the zombies, but what his torchlight reveals turns his blood cold. The doors of the cells running down the western length of this corridor are unlocked and open, and within the two most-northernmost cells, lurk more zombies... A pair per cell it seems, standing absentmindedly, waiting for an unsuspecting soul to disturb them, even if only to shine a torch's light upon their clouded pupils. As Bors's flame illuminates their faces, their eyes turn toward the fighter. Between the newcomers in the hallway and the two pairs now discovered by Bors, there are six zombies in this area, and still more cells stretching beyond containing who knows what...

The way now clear for Angel to get a clean shot at one of the zombies without the fighter providing cover, the thief draws and looses an arrow which hits with a "splat" but otherwise seems to affect the monster little.
OOC:
I guess with @dominion451 gone for a few days, we should come to a consensus as to what Maloria would do here. I'm on the fence between her simply rushing forward with her hammer, or trying to Turn Undead again. I'll let the Players decide her next course of action.

She had talked about playing it safe here, so I would guess that a good ol' fashioned Turning would be the way to go.

OOC:
I'm good with that, then, for this round. She doesn't see what Bors sees from his position, but she certainly sees the two wandering up the hallway at the party, so she'll focus on those two...
Maloria lifts her holy symbol and continues to try Turning the newly arrived zombies. This time her faith falters, and the undead seem unaffected by the divine act.
