I think if we continue, we should skip the mission and don't do downtime for a bit. As to whether we remain on the planet or not, I don't have a particular preference. (Just let me keep Connor.)
Not a single game I've played on GP so far had mystery/conspiracy missions work out for them. :'D I think it's just very, very hard to pull off long investigation scenes in PbP, whether it's homebrew or a written campaign - especially with a group. Usually it seems to just make both players and GMs frustrated and gradually make it harder and harder to post. So yeah, I think I would just prefer not to have mystery as the main focus here.
And downtime didn't do great things for momentum, so maybe we can just avoid it for a bit? Might just be me, but I'd prefer to interact with other characters more... erm, real time. I still like the idea of a downtime, in a vacuum (oop, a pun), so I do want the mechanic to return eventually, later. Maybe it'll work better in shorter bursts?
Yeah, options 1/3/4 all work for me. Or stopping.
I don't do Discord for games. Can't even do voice chats either way, haha. Thanks for the invite though! :)
