I present Bernard the Admirable. He is a former professor from Absalom. He had been content for decades in his position as a Lecturer on Arcane Theory at the College of Mysteries. On his 60th birthday, he had an epiphany that he had never put his skills to the test adventuring such as he had dreamed off in his youth, and soon after word that Osirion was opening up its tombs reached him, and he decided he would mount an expedition. On arrival, the upcoming opening of the Necropolis of Wati seemed to be the best option, so he travelled there and start looking for a group who required his expertise.
Naive and stuffy, Bernard has led a very sheltered life, and though his knowledge on almost any topic that could be studied in a book is extensive, he is often at a loose end when it comes to human behaviour. He also loves to pontificate when the opportunity arises. Though largely good natured, his naivety, privelege and academic detachment make him more of a neutral presence, in that he often does not recognise injustice nor look for it, though if alerted to it and made to understand would likely look to help.
On a mechanics note - I gave him the old template because it seemed fitting - let me know if you’re not OK with that and I’ll redesign him a bit - its not crucial that this aspect be represented mechanically, just thought it was apropos. The scroll scholar archetype seemed in line with how I perceive him, and I believe also works quite well for the nature of this AP.
