It's all coming together. Who agreed to DM for us again?

I stink at coming up with backgrounds, every once in awhile it just flows out and comes together.

If anyone has anything that they have laying around ATM, I am open to suggestions. That is if you aren't planning on using it,

Male Elf Slayer/Vanguard archetype 134 y/o lived in Wati about 40 years now.

But like I said I will sleep on it and see what happens by tomorrow.

I always like to keep the background a little loose to start with - I always find the character changes a bit once you get into the game and the party dynamic starts to affect things - you start with a basic idea of who they are, but then you start to adjust based on actual play. Definitely not uncommon for me to change alignments after I start playing and realise they’re a little different to what I thought.

Hmm, I always find Elves a bit tricky in this regard - 40 years is such a long time. I would assume you’re relatively new to it since you’re level 1, so I guess what has prompted you to become a Vanguard and why?

The main organisations I could see where that would come in handy and be encouraged are the Pharasmins that patrol the Necropolis, the City Watch, or one of the gangs that operate in Wati.

Maybe something happened that prompted you on to that path within the last few years, possibly involving one (or more) of the other party members to give you a tie in there.

I can write up a fast background, but I find they are much more imaginative and detailed if I come up with it during play.

OK chunky I am going bare bones with the city watch angle, and my family has lived in Wati since fore I was born. My father is also a member of the watch and my younger sister is a merchant in town as well.

I am going with a Paladin of Horus, and will start building him today.

He gets along well with Khepri, so my character should mesh well with Khadi.

@ Qralloq, are you okay with a Paladin? If so, may you give me an idea of how strict you'll track alignment choices? (am I good as long as I don't intentionally do something evil or unlawful, and otherwise follow the code I write out?)

Paladin is my favorite class. And no, I'm not a overly zealous micro-manager of your relationship with Horus.

What are your thoughts on taking a drawback for a 3rd trait?
