Chapter 2 - House Calls

The walk to Jatso Park takes you back past Mirach's apartment complex where two members of the FSF are posted outside the entrance checking identification of those entering the building. A half a kilometer further down the road is a small, wooded plot of land which sits between two office buildings; Jatso Park.

The park is completely empty save Mirach and a male human sitting at stone table. The man is dressed in a long leather coat and has a thick, dark beard. Seeing you arrive, she waves you over to join them.

The bearded man greets all of you with a friendly nod as you join him and Mirach near the center of Jatso Park. He sits quietly and appears to be a little nervous, constantly looking around the area as if expecting someone to jump out at any second.

The FSF sergeant takes a quick peek around as well, but seems far more relaxed than her associate.

"I wasn't sure you'd actually show up, but I'm glad that you're all here." she says, speaking just loud enough to be heard.

"As you a now know, I am aware of who you are and the good that you've been doing for the citizens of Falu. Unfortunately some of those who are benefiting from the Imperial presence are planning on drawing you out into the open."

On cue the bearded man hands Mirach a datapad.

"Kyle here has discovered that Grewhit Gen is planning on holding a press conference in a week's time announcing that he has captured the Falu Four, even going so far as marching them out in binders and handing them over to the Imperials. From some of the communications that Kyle has intercepted between Gen and his thugs it sounds as though they're just going to grab innocent citizens or some of Gen's competitors in hopes that you'll make an appearance at the press conference to try and stop the injustice."

Mirach takes a deep breath and slowly exhales waiting to see how you react to this information.

"Not directly... as such. No." Kyle responds, breifly glancing towards Kip as he does.

Mirach is clearly taken aback by Guy's response.

"Those unfortunate fools may very well be the same people that your actions have been protecting! I will not let Gen put on some sort of show for the Imperials where innocent citizens of this city are carted off by The Empire. I'd would have thought..."

Kyle jumps in before a clearly frustrated Mirach can continue.

"We should kill the fat bastard and be done with it!" he says with a slight chuckle. "Your little city here would be a lot safer with him gone."

"Only he and his associates are aware of the plan as far as I can tell, I don't think he's even contacted his Imperial keepers yet. As I become more aware of any more details I can forward them along."

"It's only a trap after it's been set." Kyle responds, a slight grin on his face. "Gen doesn't know that we're onto his plan and that gives us a huge advantage. The way I see it we have a few options."

He pauses and looks towards Mirach who nods her approval for him to continue.

"We stop his teams from collecting civilians. I should be able to continue to intercept his communications and let you know when and where they'll strike. I'm afraid this will only tip Gen off and we'll miss our chance to remove him."

"Another option would be to extract him and deliver him to my superiors, which would be very beneficial to those who oppose the Imperial presence on your planet and may even lead us to figure out why they've come in the first place."

"Final option is a more... permanent removal. Not the resolution my superiors would hope for, but one they would find acceptable."

Mirach breaks in at this point.

"I would be able to drum up some official FSF support for dealing with the civilian abductions, but can not offer resources if you choose to deal with Gen in a more direct manner. The man has his hooks into more than a few high level officers on the force and you can be sure they'll do what they can to protect him."

In a manner that suggest he's only partially joking, Kyle responds to Kip's query,

"Who the hell isn't one of my superiors?"

"But for this particular mission it's one Nibev Hibl, who captains the Onkentes, a frigate of the Rebel Fleet."
