Character Creation

Does anyone know what an appropriate age would be for our characters?

I’m just assuming they all age like humans? I’m going to say Ayy is like 28.

Age matters not but please be young adult or older.

Just a heads up I will be using a Wookiee translator. Found it for the beginner game I am also in. I am still trying to get the hang of the mechanics, so be prepared for questions as we go please.

I have just noticed the 'add to/remove from library' toggle on the 'All Characters' screen. Does that need to be set such that our characters are added to the library?

Also, I understand that we should be able to post as our character rather than as a player, but I don't see any way to do so. Does something happen backstage to enable that option or have I overlooked something?

The "add to" will make you character viewable by others. In the character bar below you can click on Ayy and see her character sheet (as I've added her to the library), but if you click on Zaoanlu you'll get a character not found. Personal preference whether you add it or not - the GM will always be able to see a character sheet in their games.

You can post as your character once the character has been accepted by the GM. You'll have a "Post As:" option above the post dialog when that happens.

Ok. That makes sense. I thought that the site might require that you add the character to the library before it could be added to a game and wanted to make sure that I hadn't overlooked a critical step of the process. Thank you, szemely.

I am sorry to ask but would you guys be willing to delay one week? Since covid I work from home most weeks but next week is my week to both be in the office and on call. If that is okay we will start actual play august 1st.

Okay with me, real life comes first.

Hopefully by then I will be comfortable with the system from my other game.

I won't change our current game but if this goes well and you are interested we may go old school next. I just got this book the rules finally clicked for me.

NICE! I have the 30th(?) anniversary edition of the WEG Star Wars game and would love to give it a go!

I also have the 30th anniversary edition. I have a problem I can never settle on one ruleset that I like for long. I would like to try second edition rules ai some point.

Every once in a while I get the idea of making my own rules but then I give myself a headache and quit.

I prefer the FFG ruleset over the others, by far. But I do have the 2nd edition of the WEG rules, too. The difference is that I have all of the non-adventure books for the FFG edition, but just the core book for the WEG version.
