Shadowrun 5e game starting soon!

hello all! I will be starting up a 5e shadowrun game soon and I need players! this is an interest/idea thread. post here if you'd be interested, and tell me what kind of game interests you.

I was tossing around the idea of doing a street-level game where everyone starts as low level gangers and works their way up to shadowrunners, but in a PBP game, that could take years. let's brainstorm.

before you commit, I'd like to have people in my game that can post at least once per day on weekdays. weekends are free days. I think one post a day isn't asking too much and it helps keep the flow of the game alive.

also, this will only be my second PBP game I've ever run, so if you need to give me feedback, it is welcome! all I ask is that you be honest. if you're not having fun, tell me why.

I have a lot of NPC portraits and such since I am starting a IRL shadowrun game so I'll have lots of immersive digital goodies in my posts.

I liked playing a Rigger in the last game here. I'd be happy to expand to another class in the shadows.

I was hoping you'd answer the call. you can play the same character or a different one. I feel bad that we all didn't get anywhere in the last one.

I'm in for sure! But, I don't do too much of the lingo...maybe I'll have to play a really square character.

I'm in. Is it possible to play a low-level corporate worker who turns to Shadowrunning as a way to make more money, soon leaving his job to become a full time Runner?

I can post a slang lexicon if you need me too. just like in real life, people don't talk in slang all the time anyway. hell, you probably only need to know three words: chummer, geek, and paydata

Well, if I play the same character that'd mean I wouldn't have to do work, so that's good. Will you be using the same character-creation rules, or will I need to reset for standard?

depends on what kind of game we're running. if we agree on a gang-level game, it may be difficult for that concept. but if everyone wants to start out as fresh runners, that would totally work, you'd just have a lot of negative qualities

shadowrun is extremely dense. I'll help everyone if they're struggling, even post some sticky threads with pertinent rules for reference if we need it. that's what I did for my mage game since the magic system if hideously complicated.

I have the core book. I understand some of the basics of the rolling system and I've looked over character creation. Glomming on to new systems to figure it out and learn it is sort of my thing though. :)

I haven't played since first edition. I also just realized I only have the 4e book. Are the 5e quick start rules sufficient to jump in your game?

oh yeah, it should be. and if you don't have it already, get chummer5, it's a characters generator that greatly reduces the time to takes to make a character.

This game should start with a dragon.

The dragon invites you to dinner. You're not sure if for or as.

there's an interesting concept.. everyone is indebted to a dragon for some reason and HAS to run the shadows for some reason

If we're tossing up concepts how about an spin off of The Player TV Show where the Runners are the player, the ones betting are dragons, their Mr. Johnson is the Pit Boss.

everyone brainstorm, I'm going to create the game and post it this weekend, so give me solid concepts

I think I'm down with the dragon idea as being the team's Fixer. Perhaps a hybrid of pre-runner backgrounds where this dragon has assembled the team for its first run?
