I'd love a
[ +- ] +1 Moon Sickle
but it's from Tasha's.

I'm trying to decide between a +1 Ring of Protection (+1 saves and AC) and a Luckstone (+1 saves and ability checks). Keeping it simple. :P

With only 500 gp to spend, the magic items choices are quite limited. Alin will purchase 4 additional healing potions and a dark wool cloak. Bedroll and rations will go in the bag of holding (so I set them to 0 weight)

How about a couple of flasks of alchemist fire for 50 gp each?

Kevin would love to get his hand on an all purpose tool +1 if an artificer in town would have one handy. He has 687gp to spend
[ +- ] We all know what an all purpose tool looks like

Mrak purchases some splint armor and four potions of healing.

This sounds good, and you that seems a good price for alchemist’s fire.

Simple, but expensive *lol*.

You are able to find some items in the market that are good in some of these areas, but not as effective as you were hoping.

As far as those game-changing items, I will make sure that you can find things like that in the dungeon, too.

Nothing beats a try like a fail. ;) I'll post my alternate suggestions tonight.

So far...

1 x Healing Potion 50 gp
2 x Alchemist's Fire (flask) 50 gp
2 x Acid (vial) 25 gp

Looking at other common items, would this be allowed/possibly usable as we explore?

Breathing Bubble
Wondrous Item, common
This translucent, bubble-like sphere has a slightly tacky outer surface, and you gain the item’s benefits only while wearing it over your head like a helmet.
The bubble contains 1 hour of breathable air. The bubble regains all its expended air daily at dawn.

You can certainly purchase a breathing bubble if you like, but for areas where you need breathable air, I have provisions available for you to breathe.

Gadabout

I'll go with...

4 x Healing Potion 50 gp
4 x Alchemist's Fire (flask) 50 gp
4 x Acid (vial) 25 gp

Final ridiculous item suggestion: the Hat of Vermin.
The gadabout is cool. I'm planning to use them soon in a planar campaign I'm running.

OOC:
Speed 10 ft., fly 60 ft. (hover)

While grappled by the gadabout, the target determines where the gadabout moves on the gadabout’s turns and accompanies the gadabout wherever it goes.
Creepy, although you direct it, you are not in control and pretty much have to fly.

The shifter race was updated in Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse, pg. 32. Mainly the change from 1 shift pr short rest to prof pr long rest. His temp hp is now 2xprof instead of Con+lev. I have updated Kevin accordingly

It seems that they are removing Sort Rest features from the races in favor of prof pr long rest and I think that is a good move.

It seems the dev team is going to use proficiency bonuses more actively in game mechanics as they move toward the big 2024 rules revamp.
May 22, 2022 6:57 am
And probably drop the short rest feature
May 22, 2022 7:07 am
That will be especially interesting for warlocks.
May 22, 2022 8:08 am
I think they will introduce an arcane recovery feature, that can refill their pack spellslots out of combat

Makes sense. Like wizards and some druids.
