Out-of-Character Discussion

Hey folks, I am off on a road trip from August 14th - 24th. Will try to sporadically post, but feel free to push my character forward and/or conduct his turns in combat if need be.

Hi All, I am having some struggles feeling motivated to continue this game. I am sorry that I have not be as responsive on this thread.

It takes a lot of mental capacity for me to run this kind of a game, as opposed to running a pre-written module, and I feel like I am drowning, and leaving you all.

As such, I wanted to see if we could choose from a couple of options:



I am allowing multiple choice here, and the one with the most votes will be the one I go with.

I deal with depression and anxiety, and I know how difficult it can be to find the motivation to run a game sometimes.

If you're being challenged with this campaign, starting another one might not be a good idea since the same problems may crop up again.

I hear that, for sure, which is one of the reasons I offer the first option. My struggle has been in doing all of the world-building, NPC, and adventure structure work. That's why one of the options I presented is to do a written module or adventure. With a lion's share of the stuff already made, I am fairly certain I can manage. I think it also helps me have a defined end in-sight.

It is up to you all. I am open to any of these options, and I can deliver on a fun adventure. I know that runekyndig is already looking for a way out of this adventure, to focus on others, and if others agree, we can just retire this game.

HeroAmongMen, I am super appreciative of the work you've put into this game. I had a good time, and (other than the feeling of drowning) I hope you did too. Yeah, the planes of Eberron is such a huge space, I can see how you might get so far out in the water it's hard to see the shore.

Maybe we'll close this one and, if you like, work on a pitch for a module to post in the Gamer's Tavern. Those of us who can make it can sign up, plus you can attract new blood to replace those that can't. Gives you some time to think through what game you'd like to run and prepare. And you're sure to get people lining up to join, 5e is a popular system.

Planegea does look awesome. I like how they leave a lot of the rules of 5e alone but then do a complete rewrite the fictional elements. I'm sure you'd get people lining up out the door and around the corner for that setting.

I'm happy to start a pre-written adventure. Just make sure you're not over-extending yourself. This is supposed to be fun for us all. :)

What ever will be best for you Hero, yes annex says, your fun is equal or more important than ours (DM has to have fun to make it so for he others). I am tots.y with you on pre written adventure here on gamers plane. I can go with the flow, seat of pants at a table but not in this format, I feel I have to write too much…
I am willing on any option, even with A, I expect to see you back at the helm in another game that I would be interested in joining. (also look for another Eberron "one shot" from me.)
