✅ The Pitch. A Legion team is stranded in Atlantis after a terrible shipwreck. As they attempt to survive the harsh realities of life on this lost continent they become embroiled in a slave revolt. To survive the Tomorrow Legionnaires need to use cunning as much as combat prowess, if survival is even possible in the face of such an oppressive interdimensional empire.
Savage Rifts takes the iconic Palladium game from the 1990s and adds the mechanical sensibilities of Savage Worlds. It's a high action game where common definitions of balance are ignored. The focus will be ensuring that the characters have individual agency, but they're not going to be equal, and we shouldn't worry about that.
Backdrop: Hundreds of years in the future, the Earth has been devastated by cataclysm. The emergence of a vast network of interdimensional rifts has rendered much of the Earth's population wiped out by strange, demonic, and otherworldly invaders. As humanity rebuilds, drawing in allies from other dimensions as well as creations from mad science, clawing out safe spaces amidst the chaos, the future looks only to be grimmer as each new threat seems more dire than the last. Focused on not what is but what could be, the Tomorrow Legion fights for a brighter hope for humanity and its allies.
✅ The Game System and Rules Version. This will use the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition ("SWADE"). There are additional details in the Atlantis Rising campaign guide and some if that will be available.
Game Details
✅ Character Restrictions. standard Savage Rifts character creation, with additional options from Atlantis Rising. The characters should be made in a group, lone wolves who want to dominate using a very narrowly focussed build will not be taken seriously. This will be a perilous adventure, characters will start at Veteran experience.
✅ Game Duration and Post Frequency. I prefer daily posters, weekends included (it's understood that life comes first, and holidays may interfere). The game will likely last a year. If the group does wish for a slower pace, then that would be acceptable.
✅ Specialized Software and Resources. None.
✅ Player Experience Requirements. I want a few SW aficionados, but a couple spots for newbies will be made.
✅ How to Apply. I will select players based on interest shown here or by PM.
✅ Marginalized Groups Welcome. This game is explicitly friendly to LGBT and any other minorities or marginalized groups.
✅ Adult Content or Controversial Themes. Loads of violence. Slavery will be depicted (the players may be given the choice to lead a slave revolt).
