Useful References (very rough notes)
• Most PbtA books. The more your read the better. Some contradict each other, that is fine.
⠀ • List specific games that had good GM sections.
The Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master but Sly Flourish (Mike Shea). I have not read Return, but did read The Lazy Dungeon Master years ago. It is good advice, for DnD specifically, but also in general for other games and genres.
• The Introduction sections of The Monsters Know What They're Doing by Keith Ammann. With just the introduction you can start to work out how to run most creatures/monsters (summary available on the blog entry Why These Tactics?). Maybe read the specific sections when you need to run one of the specific monsters.
Scenario building: from cliche to complexity!
