I'm finding myself inspired by the Jabberwock
Cyrranyx invited Maccus to come to a private meeting. Maccus walked in to the conference room in the ruins of The red dragons' home. A barbarian's furs and great axe sat on the conference table. Cyrranyx said,
Come back here and use these. Us dragons do so adore a good riddle. Persuade my family to evict the trespasser and we will help you. Maccus nodded, and gestured toward the furs and great axe. Cyrranyx continued,
Dragon culture demands that you accede to our customs. Only dragons can wear gems and fine clothing in our formal gatherings. The dragon winked at him
All of the dragons met in the hall. Maccus entered wearing the furs. Xyabonyx snarled,
The Usual Rules of Riddles apply. We take turn. Loser forfeits the challenge and is... banished from this city Xyabonyx smiled, exposing his teeth and his rotting gums.
As a dragon, I have the unlimited right to precedence. I flow in a river not to the sea but in a loop. Magic is the base to this fantastic soup. Not blue or black but pure gold. This magic is might uncontrolled. The black dragon smiled cruelly. The smile faded immediately, when the disguised vampire's axe bit into his left wing. Golden blood fell to the ground at the dragon's feet. Maccus responded,
Here is your answer, oh noble champion. And here is mine. A brilliant twin I indeed am, When the lights go out, I'm on the lam. I return to you again and again, not just one I am nor ten. I remain even after your death, even then requiring no breath The dragon looked perplexed.
I expected better from you. I was told that you were a worthy challenger by my distant cousins here. The dragon whipped his tail against the wall and a mirror fell from the ceiling. Falling a dozen yards, the mirror fell on the vampire. The dragon laughed and started another riddle, but Cyrranyx interrupted him.
Fool. Did you forget that not every individual who comes here has a reflection Xyabonyx looked out across the hall to the vampire's battered body. He was holding a shard in his hand. An obsidian black drop of blood oozed out onto the shard, but even then, the shard appeared to be perfectly clean. 20 dragon claws reached out gripping Xyabonyx's legs and wings. In an instant, Maccus was at Xyabonyx's throat. Gold flowed into the vampire's open maw. The battle was over.

I'll write Baltasar's challenge later. This took me forever. I am really not good at coming up with riddles
