Alright then, I think both of those options sound good. Cutting off their heads would likely be faster, easier, and involve less encumbrance burden or Strength Ability Checks obviously, and you could probably do that real quick with Gilly's short sword before taking a ten minute rest, assuming you're taking the ten minute rest.

Gilly will offer the knife to the knowing cleric and then prepare to head back up once the job is done. Time for a proper rest up top!

Mal takes the blade from Gilly and solemnly waves her to go ahead. The halfling had been through enough as of late and Mal would spare her the memory of this grim task. Once the deed is done, Map drags the two headless corpses off into one of the open alcoves and says the words of last rites according to her church. She wraps the heads in her travel cloak and heads back up the ladder.

Gilly returns to the Torture Chamber where Eltrezar waits with the fallen fighter. A few moments later Maloria comes up the ladder as well, her traveling cloak bulging with the distinct shape of what looks like two large melons wrapped within. The group sits and catches their breath, the room awkwardly silent and unbelievably strained as the halfling and the wizard sit, one glaring at one another while one tends to avoid eye contact all together. Only the sputtering of Gilly's torch makes any noise.

For nearly five minutes the tension in the room seems so thick and palpable one could bite it with their teeth and chew on it. Just as it seems an outburst is inevitable though the conscious three suddenly hear a slamming of a door somewhere to the north. Muffled voices become louder as another opens and closes, somewhere in the dungeon from where the party's already been. A third door opens and the voices are now clear as day, emanating from somewhere to the northwest, near the stairwell leading to the upstairs pantry... near where the slime molds were fought... near the two chopped open doors of the rooms containing the well-maintained weapons and armor.

While walls and corners and the darkness beyond block the group's view of anything, no barriers stand between the source of the noise the the party's ears, and the sounds are clear as day if only bouncing off the stonework enough to reverberate a slight echo around the dungeon. A number of creatures are speaking, their tone conversational at first, though even at a conversational level they sound harsh and more like barks than of any civilized tongue. A moment later though, as the noises seem to approach the two rooms used as an armory, the speaking stops abruptly. Only a few seconds later there's excitement; a cacophony of yelps, growls, and howling. The language is unclear, and yet more resemblant of barking than even before, clearly the speakers are excited, alarmed, perhaps enraged, though the exact nature of the thoughts each of the creatures are trying to convey, seemingly all at once, is impossible to discern amidst the cacophony of voices and the alienness of their native tongue!

Only about 5 minutes of your 10-minute rest has elapsed, so far. I assume all the group's weapons and gear that Gilly collected was returned to their rightful owners?

Eltrezar attempts to hush the party with his hands as the noises continue and begin to excite. He points to the door leading to the Ogre's chamber, and begins to help drag Bors in that direction (feebly).

yes weapons returned, does it seem like we could actually reach the ogres chamber quickly and quietly? Like within one round?

OOC:
Wasn't the Ogre's chamber through the Sex Dunge...
er, Torture Chamber?

Well this is the layout of the map, as far as you’ve discovered so far to give you an idea of what’s going on. It’s about 60’ or so to the first door. I would say that if you can make it to the first door to the north without alerting anyone to yourselves (probably a perception check in my end), you’re free to do so, and you can make it as part of the regular 10-minute turn (I’ll count it as still part of your rest turn even).
But… if you get caught, and the creatures making the noise are in fact hostile, you’ll likely trigger an encounter. Than means you forfeit your rest turn, and you’ll suffer the standard -1 penalty to To-Hit and Damage rolls during the encounter.

seems risky but not impossible, we could just hide behind some of the crates in here...

OOC:
This isn't the first time the residents have seen proof of us. We usually just leave before they arrive. We could hide in a zombie cell instead.

OOC:
down through the trap door you mean?
Jan 25, 2022 6:40 pm
OOC:
I believe that by "zombie cell", @cowleyc means the cells lining the wall of the room directly to the west of the torture chamber. You'll recall that only two days ago (in game) these cells were filled with a dozen zombies, which you dispatched of with the aid of Angel and Norris Dewitt, before moving onto discovering and defeating Lubash the Ogre
Jan 25, 2022 10:39 pm
OOC:
but that's where the noise is coming from, no?
Jan 25, 2022 10:59 pm
OOC:
The trap door is probably bad idea, but we could climb back down and just hang out. We'd have to lower Bors, which would be timely and likely noisy.

I think the noise was closer to the staircase and the armament rooms, whereas we could probably slink in the shadows over to the cells.
Jan 25, 2022 11:06 pm
OOC:
sure I'm game for that bottom most cell
Jan 26, 2022 3:41 am
Before getting too far, Eltrezar shows a flash of insight on his face. Hrmph! "The cells where the zombies awaited us. Let us move with silence. I will extinguish my lamp if you can guide us, Maloria."

Mal looks to Gilly quickly and nods as she lifts Bors by the shoulders...

Gilly nods, wordless.

This surely means death if we get caught…
OOC:
I’m a little worried that we have excluded our fighter for quite some time.
