... how the whole initiate thing works. Do they take away your holy symbol when you leave? If so, he'd have to go back first. Or he would have stolen/gotten one in another way.
Completely up to you. You can also tell us everything we need to know about your god. As and when it becomes relevant.
TheGenerator says:
... If plausible I don't think the temple is informed ...
No problem. We can work out later how they feel. You will have the biggest say in this, or even if you want it to come up or be an issue at all. It is your religion.
TheGenerator says:
... char sheet. Do I just submit it to the game via the game page? I'm guessing you'd be able to see it then.
Yes, just submit and I will 'approve' it. That is a fancy word for 'click', since I don't check or reject. We can sort out the details afterwards.

But, yes. In general, once a character is submitted, the GM can see the sheet. You have to take steps to allow the players to see the sheet.

Hi TheGenerator! I remember Rook looking longingly at a bar we passed in the early stages of the game: he seems the likeliest of the current party to have frequented an inn on the edge of town, so perhaps the likeliest for you to have met before?

Indeed, Rook is a likely candidate to know (or have encountered) many people.

A bar also makes it very likely for any/all the rest of you to have been there and met the bar-tender.

Great! If you're fine with it, we can be on first-name basis already. My character will be Albert.

Oh just said this on Discord, but for others' benefit: my character is Meht, a Ranger who loves the forest but is awkward around people. He'd have visited bars very rarely, only when it was necessary for some other reason or obligation.

We can assume that at least one of the characters here (even if we have to rely on NPCs) knows and likes Albert enough to invite/introduce them, which frees up the integration options.

Do you want Albert to have been with the caravan, or do you want to meet up here at the bandit camp? If here, where do we find you and what are you doing? You can define some details about the camp, even if we have to retcon a bit, just don't step on Cook (see the posts around this one).

Albert is at the camp already. He had recently been told to "shove off" and waited on the outskirts until he noticed the bandits leaving. The perfect time to give them a taste of their own medicine.
He'll probably be spotted while trying to make it out with some loot he just got from one of the tents. So the caravan would find him pretty much red handed, trying to loot the place.

I'm guessing that, with +2 wisdom, Albert would be able to tell that the caravan people are not part of the bandit crew when he sees them. Especially when he notices a familiar face.

If it fits the timeline better, He can also try to sneak into the camp while the party is meeting Cook. Stumble upon them and be like "crap... I thought this place was gonna be empty"

Do I just jump into the RP thread whenever, or will you let me know when I'm up?

I am going to be away for some hours (part of the PbP experience), so it may be a while till I can respond. But if you want to introduce your character, and place them in the scene, the others might be able to start to interact in the meantime.

That's fine, it's about time to get some sleep over here. I'll keep an eye on things tomorrow.

TheGenerator says:
(elsewhere)... I think finding out the trigger is the first step. For example is it a reaction to an emotion, a sound or visual input?
Makes sense.

A bear-form sounds like it would be an emotional trigger? Don't you think? Maybe 'protectiveness' rather than rage?

But you are welcome to exhibit feelings of rage (or something else, that is just a first thought) before that, possible as an outpouring of the repressed change? Maybe letting it out and changing relieves that rage for a while? A 'fiery rage' could be misinterpreted as a manifestation of Raynor's influence in the time-being?

Just a thought.

That could work. How about a 'caged' feeling? Either when driven into a corner by enemies or more like claustrophobia. It would fit with the caged bear narrative. I don't think it would be an instant transformation, but rather a build-up. If Albert can remove himself from the situation in time, nothing (extreme) happens.

That sounds like it's something my fellow players would have to add when it happens :)

Could I add another character sheet? So I can post as Albeart and I'll try to find a fitting image.
Or can you add it for me?

It might also be useful to store some notes specifically related to the bear form.

Maybe as a first trigger, yeah. After that, though we don't want to rely on such a situation for future changes, of course.

Do you think you would be able to change at will? Maybe that can come later, with practice? It might need a dice roll, too.

Well, it would be up to you to decide if and when you have any feelings, and then you are welcome to have Albert try to justify them by blaming his god. Or your actions could lead the others to believe it is 'righteous rage'.

Go for it.

You could also use the [ npc] tag option to keep the bear in the same sheet. I don't mind either way.

I don't believe that is possible.

Sure. Not that these sheets are very complicated.

with practice sounds logical.

I didn't think about the NPC list. I'll do that instead 👍
