Thank you all for your interest! Please go ahead and create your characters using the below information. If you want to use D&D Beyond, I'm fully in support of that also.

millyk Milaki Lightfoot Halfling Rogue
GreyWord Claudius Human Circle of Stars Druid
Stampman49 Esal Shulas Wood Elf Ranger

Character Generation

Any published WOTC materials (no UA to start). If you choose an outlandish race, it may have in-game implications, but isn't off the table.

Max hit points for level 1, rolled according to leveling information below for level 2+

House and Optional Rules

Feats are allowed

Leveling Info
Hit Points per level are rolled, but with a minimum of the average. Any roll below the average for the die is treated as the average (plus CON mod as appropriate):
Hit Die Average
d64
d85
d106
d127

Roll your HP in this thread and give a quick summary of what new stuff you're picking up. For example:
Quote:

Rolled a 1d6 for my new HP, plus I get 1 new cantrip (Learning Prestidigitation) and the feat "Alert".
PBP Stylistic Guide
Here's a quick summary of some "standards" you'll see me using throughout the game. If you'd like to follow the same, great. Otherwise, just make sure your posts are easy to understand what's going on (especially as it pertains to speaking vs thinking and such.

In short:

Character actions are posted in unadorned plain text. I try to keep these in third person, present tense.
Quote:
The towering man draws the massive sword from his back, setting his stance against the upcoming rush of kobolds.
Speech is done in bold text.
Quote:
Come and taste my steel! the barbarian growls, feeling his rage flow through his veins.
Internal thoughts are handled through italics.
Quote:
Dirty kobolds. Vile creatures. I would as soon bed a devil as I would to see a single of these vermin roam free. the sorcerer thinks to herself as she feels the wisps of poison start to coalesce in her hand.
Information about any spells or actions taken in the post are in red font at the bottom of the post.
Quote:
Casting poison spray. DC13 Con save or take damage.
Anything out of character is posted using the OOC tags.
Quote:
OOC:
The barbarian really hates kobolds. I'm not sure if this would give him any kind of advantage on the strike? Are there any other rolls you want to see?
DM Information I try to post in this color.
Quote:
Feel free to roll a Nature check to learn more about Kobold lighting preferences. Billy, do so at advantage because your mom is a kobold.

A few housekeeping items, so you all know what to expect:

1) Given the asynchronous nature of PbP games, I will roll all initiatives.
-->Typically combat will be side based, meaning all the PCs will go in one batch and then all the NPCs will go in one batch so we don't get too bogged down in waiting.
-->Characters with high initiatives are still beneficial as I take all rolls into account (not exactly an average of all inits, but similar) when I set up when the batches go. In order to keep it "easy" to understand, I'll post the current combat lineup in Bold Teal when we are in "initiative timing". If your name is in bold, you are free to take your action. If not, no action for you!

Example:
COMBAT! Bold below may act:
Evil Monkey
Bob
Bill
Susan

Army of Grifters

2) Please roll attack and damage when you declare your attack. If you roll a 20, edit in an extra dice for the crit damage. For example, make a roll like: Longbow Shot: 1d20+3, 1d8+1.

3) If you think your action will need a roll, post it. If I don't need/want it, I'll just ignore the result. :)

4) For the most part, we'll be doing Theater of the Mind for combat, though I can provide maps as needed. For any grid maps, I do NOT use the "alternating diagonal distance" variant rule.

All in all, we're all here to have fun and roll some digital dice. If there's an issue with anything, please let me know and we'll do what we can to make sure everyone is having a great time!

Welcome everyone! You all submitted great character concepts and you're free to pick any of the ones you submitted as your character. If you'd like to make any changes, that's also very much supported. I figure with the holiday upcoming, we'll set a "get started" date of Monday December 27th. Granted, if everyone is set up and ready to go prior to then, we'll certainly get going, but that's the "deadline" (obviously real life and the holidays are a thing, so we can work around it all).

Woot! Thanks for having me!

I will be remaking my Tabaxi Warlock Radiza, Mercenary of the Waning Moons. She'll be an unorthodox Hexblade. :)
Dec 22, 2021 12:29 am
I'll go with Atticus Rohmner the human Knight.

I will choose:

Milaki a lightfoot halfling

a mix of cuteness, craziness, kind heart, troublemaker and deadly sneaky thief rogue with two pink ponytails.
She needs to secure Neverwinter forest, because it messes up with her "business", robbing others and share the gold to the poor.

Ok. I'm thinking of going with auras for my character a female human noble warlock.
Dec 22, 2021 2:50 pm
Alrighty, my warlock will select powers that fit the feline theme (stealth, talking to animals, etc). If you want we can compare spell lists so there's no unnecessary overlap.
Dec 22, 2021 3:23 pm
two warlocks... oh my .... :P

By four they come. By four they are known.
The eldest and greatest is Tankhu Wankhu, The Perpura King.
Second is Daepsu the Tall, unmovable and self-absorbed.
Third is the Queen of the Rictus Laugh, Låh-Låh the twisted.
Last is the witch-queen of forbidden knowledge, P'o, lady of twisted dreams.
Guided by the false sun, by four they watch from shadow.
Let none who hear their cursed voice escape the pyre.

I love it. :) This is going to be a fun batch of characters to have roaming about. Plenty of opportunities for deviousness
Dec 22, 2021 6:21 pm
Then I will go with Alex Mortem a dhampir military officer. Echo knight.

As you all create your characters and give them whatever level of backstory you'll be providing, I'd like to talk a bit about where and how we're starting off the adventure. The game will start off with your entire group meeting with the Mercantile Council in the town hall (perhaps with some other 'heroes' that have shown up to answer the call).

The Mercantile Council started sending out feelers/requests for aid with traders over the last 3-4 months. Could you each think on and answer the following:

Where did you hear about Conyberry's plight?
Do you know any of the other party members prior to your arrival in Conyberry? If so, how and for how long?
How long have you been travelling to reach the town.

Is it a good idea to say that I stole an invitation?
The distance is not far away...like two days from the woods
And if i know a party member will see if someone wants to be on the scenario I suggested :P

Amazing! I'm tempted to write a one shot with this as the center of lore ! 🥰
