Chapter 5 - Food for Thought

As Ken moves through the room, his off hand toss of the hold-out blaster is headed for the ground when one especially quick witted crew member snags it mid-air. The motion catches the eye of the Yiyar Rodian who does a double-take as realization dawns, but Ken is already moving...

The Rodian stumbles back, his head wobbles from side to side as he fights to stay upright after that tremendous blast. The crew all seem to move at once, the hold-out blaster discharges. The blast strikes him square in the back and he crumples. The dull thud of him striking the floor barely has time to register before a pair of crewmen are dragging him towards the ramp.

The one with Ken's hold-out blaster stands and offers it back to Ken. Thanks, Friend?

The Human your speaking with seems to have a little less grease on his jumper than the other crew, he stands relaxed and ready as he continues. "That's peculiar, A'Kog didn't give us any indication things were changing. We spoke to him just before we left. You guys must have been pretty close behind us. I assume there's a message?"

Taking the code cylinder, he slots it into a console and reviews the message. After reading through it, he turns back to the rest of the crew. "Well fellas, no more runs to the Scrapheap." There's a bit of a happy commotion as that sinks in with the crew.

Looking back at Ken, he continues; "Funny thing, that's what them Yiyar was after, the location on Raxus of IsoTech's base. Kinda wish I'd told them now." His face takes on a sly grin. "Ah well, Glad that's over anyway. Don't know where you're headed next, but thanks and we've got to get moving. We're about to our scheduled departure time and I'd hate spaceport control to come see what's delayed us. "
