Tabat pauses, turns and nods. "Excellent points," he says and leads instead back inside the manor and up the western flight of stairs.

The stairs up lead to the top floor; two small staircases ascend from a landing on the grand staircase between floors.

This balcony wraps around a twenty-foot-square opening in the floor, overlooking the inner courtyard below and connecting the rooms of the second floor. Above, a square skylight in the ceiling provides natural light to the ground floor and ventilation for the entire building. To the southwest, six different sets of doors lead off of this balcony.

With a sheepish look at Tabat, Iseret says, "I agree with the others. We should finish our work up here first."

"Yeah, I'll be more careful next time." says Abenor as he winks. Without thinking much he follows the group. Even after all this fight he thinks of himself as a complete rookie that needs to be guided by the more experienced people in the group.

"I think we must choose between these doors."
OOC:
Is there any mark or sign that distinguishes them?
May 10, 2022 8:26 pm
The doors appear to be similar. Two are close to the stairs, the other four are farther away.
May 11, 2022 3:16 am
Tabat motions to the closest of the doors and carefully approaches it, weapon drawn. He motions to Iseret to check it out, then carefully opens the door.

[ +- ] partial map
This spacious room has entrances in the southern and eastern walls. The aged remains of dressers, a large bed, and a divan lie in ruins. The husk of large hornet’s nest, gray, papery, and devoid of life, occupies one corner of the ceiling. The spaces in the northeast and northwest corners appear to be closets. Their wooden doors have all but fallen off their hinges, and heaps of disintegrated fabric mingle on the floor. Between the closets stands a single lacquered dresser covered in dust.

'Iseret, please tell me this isn't trapped because I really want to open it.' Khadi start to move slowly to investigate the dresser and rest of the room, but is ready to stop if someone, especially Iseret, spots something.
OOC:
Also doing own perception check.

Khadi suspects that the dresser is fake, that the drawers don't actually come out.
May 13, 2022 8:30 pm
Tabat looks around, approaching the hornet's nest casually while Khadi and Iseret look over the dresser. He casually lifts the tip of his khopesh and pokes at the nest.

Perception - (1d20+1)

(5) + 1 = 6

Jaware will cast detect magic on the closet.

Jaware senses some magical emanation from deep within or maybe behind the dresser. It's exact nature eludes him.

Jaware looks to Tabat and says:

I sense magic emanating from deep within or maybe behind the dresser. I think we should try to move it.
May 16, 2022 12:25 pm
'The dresser itself is fake.. perhaps we should poke it first, to make sure its not a trap of some kind.' She goes to poke it with her spear unless someone stops her.
May 16, 2022 8:14 pm
Or, you could let me take a look," Iseret says, her voice trailing off as she realizes she is too late.
May 16, 2022 10:35 pm
OOC:
I deliberately said someone can stop her, so go for it :P

After examining it, you realize that the dresser is like a open backed box. Pulling it away from the wall, you find a bronze chest behind it.

Iseret finds that the bronze chest has a poison dart trap.
May 17, 2022 12:28 pm
Is it locked, Iseret? Can you disarm the trap?

Jaware is clearly avid for the treasure.
