"Well. So far it doesn't look like the natives are going to be friendly. I mean they did shoot us out of the sky. And if we stay here we are sitting ducks. They know where they are, and if the natives are to be believed, they'll be coming soon. You are still in command captain, but if you want my two cents worth, we gotta get out of there. And without the ship, there may not be any other way off this dustball except to commandeer one of theirs."

Ben sighs. "Getting the ship repaired requires either a willing partner or we have to take over a facility and hold it against whatever passes for security on this planet for long enough to affect repairs." Ben points out. "Stealing a ship is basically the same but without having to hold it for days. I say we strip the Aurora for useable parts and supplies and find a place to hide."

So the sooner we make it to 'Not Here', the better we'll be. I'm not sure how much of the ship we can take with us, but all your personal stuff, and then food and medical seems to be the priority."

"Agreed. Faster is better. I got my kit, but let me take a once over of the Medbay, and then I'll be ready to head out."
Killdare double-times it to the Med Bay, and makes sure he has plenty of supplies for his Medkit and a few doses of the most necessary drugs, then meets back up with the rest of the crew in the cargo bay.

"Never done grand theft starcraft before. Just need to grab my go-bag and I'm good to... well... go," Topher says and quickly makes his way to his quarters and grabs his backpack and shotgun. He looks at a few personal items left behind and shrugs before muttering to himself "Never own more than you can carry."

When Alex knew that their going to abandon the ship and head out, his head starts to spin. I knew something bad was going to happen, but not like this. This is going to be such a pain. He snaps back when he hears the voice of Santoro. "Yes sir, I'll get to it. I'll go ahead and keep watch for any signs of danger."

Ben goes to grab his gear and then swings by the ship's cockpit. If it wasn't already fried by the EMP, Ben wants to dig out the ship's black box and make sure it is destroyed. He is not keen on leaving information behind.

After grabbing a few things and destroying the Aurora's black box, the group sets out towards the settlement in the distance on foot. The farmland scenery gives way to rolling hills made of some reddish iridescent material, beautiful but hard to tell whether natural or the result of terraforming. Both plant and animal life seem absent as the seven of you march through, the first signs of life being something Alex sees through his binoculars: some kind of vehicle, moving fast a few inches off the ground and closing in.

"Trouble, probably," Colin says as he draws his Sigma 77. Looking around at the open terrain they're in, he says "Doesn't look like running is an option. Let's get behind one of these hills at least."

Alex also gets behind the same hill as Colin. He uses his binoculars again to get a more clear visual of the hovercraft trying to figure out what sort of vehicle it is, whether it's agricultural or military. "You know John, I didn't think we were going to commit grand theft auto when we came to Aphrodite Prime. I was planning on visiting some museums. Anyway, I'm checking to see if it's something we can snatch for ourselves."
