[Closed] Pathfinder 2e: Initation

No matter how much training a Pathfinder initiate receives, they can’t attain full agent status without completing their Confirmation—a final test of skill, resourcefulness, and dedication typically undertaken within 3 years of joining the Society. Every Confirmation is different, so once an initiate is ready, they petition one of the Society’s three masters to act as a sponsor and help develop a suitable challenge.

You have been training in the Grand Lodge in Absalom for the last few years and are starting to look for sponsors for your own confirmations, when you start hearing rumours that another initiate who recently went on his confirmation has yet to come back. Before you have time to look more into the rumour however you find yourself summoned by the leaders of the lodge.

This is a run through of the two society intros, and then possibly the first scenario. The main goal is for myself to get used to running pf2e before I start a homebrew adventure.

✅ Adult Content or Controversial Themes: Nothing in particular stands out, but beware some aspects of the pathfinder setting and adventurers can be dark. There will be opportunities to let me know of any triggers, squicks, and anything else that you do not want to see.


✅ Character Gen: Characters start at lv1, will end up level 2, possibly 3.

Any class allowed, any ancestry except poppet for personal reasons, no rare backgrounds (They seem to be far better for character focused games, not prewritten adventures). Evil alignment is banned.

✅ Game Duration and Post Frequency: I'll be looking to post 3-4 times a week depending on everyone's schedules. This is a run through of 2-3 scenarios, so will be a shorter game, a chance for people to get to know the 2e system.

✅ Specialized Software and Resources: There will be a discord server for people to discuss things, but is not required.

✅ Player Experience Requirements: I like to think this would be ideal for people wanting to try out the system, but I'm not going to say no to a coule of experience players to help keep an eye out for mistakes as long as they understand its my first time running it.

✅ How to Apply: Pop character concepts below, along with your experience with 2e, and pbp in general. Newbies may be slightly prioritized. If there are a lot of applicants there is a chance I may rerun this later.

✅ LGBT and other marginalized groups welcome, always

Concept: When I read about the PF2e Magus I thought it looked really cool. Will properly be a staff-wielding magus.

Character concept is that he is a human that failed the wizard academy. He joined the pathfinders with the skills he did pick up

PF2e experience: Made 2 or 3 characters, is playing in one game, where we just had our first combat. That is the amount of experience for me right now. But PF2e is a game that I want to learn and play some more

I've played a bit of low-level PF2e but that was a while back, so I forgot msot of the details by now. I just remember I really liked it so I'd be up for playing in this for sure.

As for a character, I'm thinking either a halfling druid or maybe a half-orc paladin, depending on what gels better with the group. Definitely something half, though

I have the Pathfinder 2e core rulebook and I am familiar with the ruleset, I played 1e and many d&d editions bur never had a chance to try out 2e.

I Would be interested in playing a bard that is more like a historian & lorekeeper type than a minstrel, or a rogue & swashbuckler type character

I would love to learn! If you don't mind a player with zero Pathfinder experience, but plenty of pbp experience, I'd love to join.

I have been looking for the opportunity to play Pathfinder 2e, so I was excited to discover this forum. I have a couple of years experience with Pbp, and would like to play a Half-Orc Fighter

I have many years' experience with PBP, but less experience with Pathfinder 2e, though I am interested in putting my hat into the ring. I recently got a bunch of PF2e content through a Humble Bundle that came out recently, and I would LOVE to dip my toe into the system.

As far as character concept, I would love to play a dwarven druid named Gretzva. She has lived in nature more than she has lived among people. Something in the nature around her stirred her heart to venture forth and make a name for herself in the realms of men, and she went into the most civilized place she's heard of (Absalom). The first place that got her attention was the Pathfinder Society, so she went to their group to check it out, and has been there ever since.

I am not experienced in Pathfinder's second edition, but I own the books and would love a chance to play if there's space. Considering there is an adventuring party's worth of interest before my comment, I'm happy to sit this one out.

Yeah no third party unfortunately, especially as first time running. (And even 1e where I know exactly what I'm doing I am very cautious with it )

Thanks for the interest guys. I'm going to work on invites later, but definitely looks like if this gets off to a good start I'll try and scoop up everyone else in a second run in a little bit of time.

Edit: Invites are out. Tried to grab as many with no experience, plus Naat to keep an eye and to give them a chance to play 2e instead of run. I do intend to hopefully grab the rest of you all pretty soon in a second game, I just don't want to over extend and cause both games to suffer.
