Hey all!
Even though the full manual still has to drop, I would like to run a very short "Vignette" game using the Avatar Legends quickstart (freely downloadable).
A Vignette means this is not a full adventure: I will present a clear issue the PCs can solve in a scene or two – five minutes in a TV show, maybe 30 to 60 minutes at the table, let’s say a month or so here on GP - posting 4-5 times a week.
You can use pregens for the adventure in the quickstart or make your own, your choice. There will be no need to fill in every detail - pick playbook, training, background, stats, then the moves and details we can see together once they come up. In my mind CharGen shouldn’t last more than a few days.
The Vignette will be set after the Legend of Korra in Republic City (just so all 6 training are possible) and I would try my best to keep the tone equal to the show’s – fun, kid-friendly but grounded, very welcoming to everyone.
There will be no time for character growth but occasional banter between PCs is more than welcome, so no need for backstory but feel free to give your characters a bit of personality.
My goal is mostly to practice PbP with this system, especially combat and possibly the balance moves, as I plan on running a proper adventure once the game gets released. It will be a learning experience for all. For this reason, I’d like people who at least skimmed through the Quickstart and are familiar with the setting.
Anybody on board?
