Quite the opposite Glentosh. We're here to hopefully resolve the giant issue. Sunosha says. Would you be able to aid us in doing so, with either information or action?
Feb 23, 2022 2:21 pm
Sunosha make a Persuasion check.

Rolls

Persuasion - (1d20+4)

(4) + 4 = 8

Feb 23, 2022 3:11 pm
Glentosh whirls on Sunosha. "You must do something to convince us you are not working with the giants. There are orcs in the woods this day. You must hunt them down and put an end to their rampaging. Then we will know you are not aligned with the giants."
Feb 23, 2022 3:20 pm
Zagreus enters the conversation. As much as he respects the trees and it is reasonable to assume that they are telling what they claim to be right, he is bothered by their condascending tone. If one force of nature is above him, that would definitely not be some trees. "An eye for an eye, my friend." he says to the tree. "If we must convince you by killing orcs, then you must convince us by aiding us. There is no tell that you don't have some kind of negotiation with the giants."
Feb 23, 2022 3:24 pm
Zagreus please make a Persuasion check also.
Feb 23, 2022 3:27 pm
OOC:
Sorry about that.

Off to a great start!

Gale starts to speak, but first, it sounds just like a breeze through the leaves.
In druidic: Greetings wise oak I am Gale...
In common ..from the Emerald Enclave. We have come to find the giants are learn why they have disturbed the balance. I hope that you will aid us in our travel so we can encurage the giants to return to their mountain home.
Feb 23, 2022 5:32 pm
Scar enters the conversation as he looks up at the tree. Unless those are very unusual orcs then such isn't a problem really. An annoyance that I think all of us here would gladly do for you if that would make you feel better about us here. But yes, as my friends here have said, we are here to end the giant problems here. And that will surely bring peace to your woods.

He seems rather forceful in his words and of course holds his more beastly appearance. He doesn't resemble anything like the cut and mill of a city person or someone that might be thinking of advancing into the woods. He looks more like hired help that is looking to come here. Do the job. And leave.

It appears that Scar doesn't rate orcs as much more than pests.

Rolls

Persuasion Check - (1d20+0)

(18) = 18

Glentosh turns to Zagreus. "You are impertinent, and are fortunate to have more well mannered friends." He takes you all in with his gaze. "Go and track down the orcs. Rid the forest of their blight and then we shall trouble you not. They can be found north of this clearing." With that he and the other treant turn and walk off, heading south.
OOC:
This almost became a combat encounter, and I've forgotten to ask. Would you all like to roll your own initiative, or should I roll for everyone to speed up game play?
Feb 23, 2022 6:44 pm
Sunosha rubbed her hands against her eyes. Well thank the Weave that something got through to them. she said after the treants wandered off. Mira, how far out of our way would it be to go deal with this band of orcs? If we can manage it quickly enough, it shouldn't delay us much I wouldn't think.
OOC:
I'm good with you just rolling all of the initiatives. Certainly speeds up getting into initiative mode.
Feb 23, 2022 6:50 pm
Mira has been standing in stunned silence all this time. Sunosha's question shakes her out of her state. "Uh... it depends on how far north. Could be half a day. Could be three days." She begins to look around. "Wish they'd given us more to go on then a general direction."
Feb 23, 2022 7:12 pm
OOC:
I'm in much favor for rolling all those rolls that mandatory
Start of combat: Initiativ is mandatory, GM can roll mine. The choice to attack, is my choice, so I will roll that
I'm also going to roll unmodded saves for the monsters against my spells. If the roll is so low/hign that it a sure thing, I can narrate it. The gray area inbetween, I'll the GM handle ;)
Feb 23, 2022 7:17 pm
"We are not aligned with the giants, mighty ones. In fact, we are here to stop the scourge, whether through diplomacy or violence."
Feb 23, 2022 7:20 pm
OOC:
I agree with Runekyndig. I'll make combat rolls, but for initiative and involuntary rolls, the GM can handle it.
Feb 23, 2022 8:19 pm
OOC:
GM can always roll my violence whenever. Faster and more is always good. So, yeah the GM can take upon making rolls for me.
Feb 23, 2022 8:30 pm
Rather unimpressed Atgørvimaðr watches the treants depart. Then he spoke to the others.
"Pah. They send us to slay their enemies? Then they must be too weak to do it themselves. Let us go on! We are to slay giants, not some orcs. If they plan to get in our way, then we have kindling for our next campfire! HAH!"
OOC:
Rolling initiative for me is fine. Unless you roll badly. ^^

Zagreus, bothered by the disturbing comment of treant, laughs at Atgørvimaðr's comment that "they must be too weak". "Absolutely," he says. "They see a group of fighters and their first thought is to give us orders." There was no choice now, though, they have to hunt down the orcs. Otherwise they would make enemies of trees, which wouldn't be good for their cause.
OOC:
I'm okay with GM rolling these dices to speed up the game. In fact, in situations like above where you asked me to roll Persuasion, you can roll Persuasion for me if you're okay with looking at my stats. Or maybe I want to do something and rolled "x" but I had to roll "y", you can aso roll "y" instead of me. All of them fine by me.
Feb 23, 2022 9:16 pm
OOC:
All right, I’ll be rolling initiative and some perception and investigation checks for everyone.
Feb 23, 2022 9:25 pm
So who’s going to track the orcs? Do you all want Mira to do it?
