7th sea core rulebook is out for backers!

Jun 16, 2016 2:13 am
ok, how many fellow backers do we have? and how many of them want to play a 7th sea game!
Jun 16, 2016 2:33 am
it might take me a couple of days to read through the book, at that time if I have enough interest I'll create a game.

Keleth, does this mean that you can put up the character sheet now or is that after the general public has access?
Jun 16, 2016 2:46 am
I think he has to wait for the general public to have access to it.
Jun 16, 2016 2:53 am
Nope, I don't have to wait for the general public. I'm about 60% done with the basic char sheet (it will need modifications once you guys take a look and tell me how to improve certain things, like advantages and arcana), and then I need to have my JWP contact approve it.

I'm super in. Haven't yet read it but WANT MY COPY.
Jun 16, 2016 3:35 am
Haven't read through it yet, but I'd be interested in playing.
Jun 16, 2016 3:46 am
ok, maybe it would be a good idea to wait until the sheet has final approval? that would give everyone time to read the book

I roll to disprove your logic!

/roll 5d10 [2, 1, 2, 3, 1]

DAMNIT! NOT ONE SINGLE RAISE!

…umm, is it too late to auto fail and gain a Hero Point?

I think this just proves just how silly and insane a 7th sea game will be with this site's dice roller

"I'd really like to escape this burning building, but I didn't get any raises.. so I just burn"

Was that the first time you used the skill for the scene?

Tracking Raises is going to be trickiest part of running 7th Sea via PbP.

This was brought up to me, and it basically means I have to raise the priority level on developing game wide tracking sheets (like destiny points for FFSW, raises here).

I don't think so, not if every person posted their total after they use one

Tracking raises stems off of how you want to make your sets though from rolls, what you do with them especially during combat for the GM as well will take some getting use too... and that's at a physical table using poker chips for raises.

1 Raise success (You may not always take the success though)
2+ Raises for other things happening/finding/altering

Cumbersome. I don't really have a notion of how Keleth's tracking sheets would work/look.

I know how they work and how to use them, its the "poker chips" that are missing in PbP. As it is, the only way to track them is via text, which isn't the end of the world and can be done, but I can see it all getting lost in the shuffle when posts fly.

you make some sacrifices for the convenience of PBP I guess

I read through a good bit of the book last night and mapped out a rough outline for major action and dramatic sequences I want to run. it might be a good idea to start with a cliche' 7th sea game: artifact hunting!

any word on when the physical copy will come out?

Good, neither do I!

In an EotE game I was in, we did destiny tracking in a separate thread; I imagine that's how people playing Savage Worlds are doing it too. Sounds feasible, though equally clumsy, here.
