Hello! I've recently discovered the RPG game Microscope. Though there is already one game that's played for almost one year in the forum, I think it's not a very popular game and for those who are not familiar with the system, I'll briefly explain it below.
In this game there is no GM. The aim of the game is to slowly build a world of our own, each member adding one new material when it's their turn. At first, we establish a "big picture", a general overview of a world we want to explore, with its beginning and end. Let's say "the rise and fall of an empire". Then, there are three nested steps which the players will decide ste by step. First one is periods, big chunks of times where we can distinguish significant things happening in our world. Let's say the foundation, rise, stagnation and fall of a empire. These are four periods of our big picture. Then there are events, smaller parts belonging to a certain period. Like "the murder of an emperor". Lastly, we have scenes, which is where the roleplay part comes into play, like "the night which the emperor is killed". Once we establish the big picture, we will consecutively add periods, events and scenes to it. This is the main promise of the game. Of course there are some rules that govern how exactly will we do these things but for a recruitment post I think it is enough for you to know this much. I'll provide extra materials that we can use for further discussion. You can ask here if you have any questions as I tried to keep it as simple as possible.
Due to its nature, there is no setting, there are no characters which you will create and roleplay for the whole duration. However, after a certain of amount of time, we will have build a whole world together that is completely written by us and even roleplayed at certain times.
Number of players: Maximum of four including me, so I'm looking for three players.
Posting frequency: I'll expect you to post three times a week at least, and inform the others if you won't be around for over a week.
Extra software: Not a software per se, but there is a great webapp called Utgar's Chronicles, which is specifically developed to be used in Microscope games. We'll use that to take note of our world but the roleplay and discussions will be done here.
