Worldbiulding Through Gameplay [D&D5e]

I'm looking to start a game to help me explore and build upon my world, players in this game you have the chance to effect my world.

I would like these players to feel like they meet these following requirements.

1. I want the players to be able to keep player knowledge apart from character knowledge, as I want to be able to talk some things through with the players.

2. I would like the characters to be interested in the exploration of the world the culture and more.

3. I would like these players to have some experience DMing their own games or creating a world.

This campaign will bot be based as much on any one story as smaller tales that help explore different parts of the world, the stories we will tell will be based off the Interest of the players does the Sentient City interest you great lets explore it the Bards, go ahead play one, and we'll see how this helps develop them in the world.

I am to start the actual game, Monday and will pick players then.

I'd be interrested in joining that game.

It's been a long time since I've DM, but I like the idea of beeing involved in the world creation.
Do you have in mind to play different part of the world simultaneously or one part at a time?

I would be playing through one scenario at a time as I don't think that at the moment I have bandwidth for more that that, but I think that we may begin to talk about the next senario before the first finishes.

This sounds like fun. :) I have considered doing something like this with my world as an alternative to a long-running campaign, too. Couple questions:
Do you have any places that show some information about your world?
Do you plan on running scenarios that make up historical parts of your world with pre-gens of existing NPC's from your other games or characters made by players with a scenario in mind? Not making a value judgement, I'm just curious.

I have some DM experience with a homebrew world (obviously), but haven't been doing it for 40 years or anything like that.

I'd love to see a little bit of the existing set-up for your world, in order to come up with a character idea that meshes well with it, to have the flow of character building/development entwined with the feeling of exploring and building onto the world itself. I've got plenty of DMing experience, and several of my own Original Worlds.

I ran a game just like this on this very site.

Would be interested in trying to play in one.

And of course before I posted this recruitment thread I filled out some details about my world, in the game, it's missing some things but after all the purpose of this is to help build out the world.
I may want to run a specific group of characters at some point but will never force personalities upon you.
Say maybe your part of a group of Wizards obviously that limits character options but the final decision of what the character is like, at least In my opinion should always be left up to the players.

That makes sense. I think most DM's would find it exhausting to dictate personality to players, lol. Put me down as interested and I'll look into your world a little more.
