@Jomsviking, I think you can use a fate point to prevent death, turning it into unconsciousness instead.
Dec 4, 2022 2:51 am
Tyr has a leather armour which will lower this damage by 2 points. So from 8 to 6, thus avoiding death. But yeah, Tyr is in dire straights... He could use a Fate Point to re-roll that failed dodge if he wanted to.

Edit: Also, he should have made his Persistance check first, to see if he would have taken a -25% penalty to his dodge...

Already used the fate point though

Oh, well, you're still at 2 HP. You'll have to be very careful this fight.

Besides, don't humans start with three?

I read through the thread, so I'm all up to speed and ready to jump back in! Though probably not as Thallan, I don't think I have brain capacity to figure out a new character yet. XD

Peli and Fitch (and Bean) are at the cave entrance, right? Can they - minus the merchant, unless he wants to join, - move through the second cave entrance and into the dining hall? I'd like to do that. My movement is 10, so in one turn I should be able to reach the doorway at least (I think?).

The cave entrance might not be the best idea. There's still a bear there... But at the cells (Fitch might want to start his inventory of what he can salvage) you could have heard the goblins raise the alarm and leave then (to Fitch's protests). 2 rounds of double moves you'd get there this round and would be able to act next round.

As for Thallan, I guess I can take care of him for now.

Oh, I misremembered, thought that the bear left the cave. Gotta wonder when it will crash the party then... XD
And sure, I'll go with the splitting up at the cells. Consider Peli doing Halfling Run™ this round.

It's not something I plan to do, but theoretically: can Peli and/or Bean grapple the goblin? I imagine the orcs are probably too tall and will cause the halfling penalty to proc, but goblins are probably easier?

Hmm, interesting. Yeah sure. Rules are printed on p.35. You'd have to use Unarmed though.

I have rarely had such a streak of bad luck in one single fight... :(

Relatable. :'D At least our companions are doing damage!

I had completely missed that the light was healing. For some reason in my head Tyr was walking around trying to hand folks a torch, and getting all huffy when they didn't take it. The healing makes so much more sense, as well as his persistence!

Huffy? He knows the light is blinding. But he also know the light can only be accepted with a contrite heart.

Sorry, that wasn't meant to sound dismissive or demeaning. That was just how my mind played out the scene. Everyone focusing on their own things, with Tyr bouncing from one person to the next as they remain ignorant to his presence. It was a funny image.

It's ok. They'll just have to ask for healing in the future. Wouldn't want to be a pushy religious zealot

I also completely forgot about the healing light. Sorry about that.

Seems you're about to finish this first adventure. Might be a good opportunity for me to start recruiting to replace the 2 players we've lost.
Jan 19, 2023 11:24 pm
Well, I tried recruiting, and nobody has shown interest. I've even tried outside of GP and no dice.

We can still continue with 4 players. It should work well enough.

I'm actually thinking of leaving after we get back to town. I love Baelrick, but the system just hasn't been speaking to me, and I haven't been overly excited about the game as a whole. Sometimes the vibe just isn't there.
