[Closed] Basic Fantasy RPG - Monkey Isle

✅ The Game System and Rules Version: Basic Fantasy RPG is a free old-school rpg modeled after D&D in the early 80s, but with some nice changes such as ascending armor class.

✅ The Pitch: Rising out of the vast emptiness of the blue ocean is a lush green island filled with ancient beasts and scattered strange ruins waiting to be explored. You've stumbled across a pirate map of a remote island, though only the outskirts of the island are filled in. Hoping to find adventure, knowledge, and treasure, you set off to explore.

✅ Adult Content or Controversial Themes: Expect violence, alcohol, mild language. Some other mature themes may come up, but will be handled delicately and I am more than willing to avoid topics that are more sensitive.

✅ Game Duration and Post Frequency: Hard to say how long it'll last, but expected posting is once per day during the week.

✅ Specialized Software and Resources: We will use Discord for our out-of-character communication.

✅ Player Experience Requirements: Anyone is welcome to apply!

✅ How to Apply: Let me know if you want in to the game and I'll select after I have some applications. It's not going to be in order of application, so feel free to jump in late :)

I've only ever played new stuff, so it would be cool to try something old school. Count me as interested.

I have that rulebook up on the shelf, love the spiral bound. Life has changed hugely and I am looking to restart many many hobbies.

I have been wanting to try Basic Fantasy for a while now, glad to see it will be run. I would definitely like to join if possible.

We lost a player, so I'm looking for a replacement. We're still at the beginning and we have a Paladin, Cleric, Magic-User/Thief, and Magic-User.

I've sent your invite here. Make sure you read through the character creation thread to make sure all's good. Otherwise the part is pretty well rounded. I wouldn't recommend a cleric or magic user, but anything else is fair game!
