KAI OH KAI!?!? Kai was standing in the monastery working in the herb garden

Death save - (1d20)

(2) = 2

Aug 11, 2016 1:41 am
Charging the tantrum throwing goblin Luka takes a hefty swing at the creature but before her mace can make contact the nimble goblin ducks down, rolls to the right, and from his knees throws his hands in the air. "GIVE UP!! GIVE UP!!"

Having had enough of Klarg's laughter Colten puts a final end to it, slipping the tip of his rapier under the bugbear's chin, and plunging it deep into his neck. Klarg doesn't even struggle as he quickly bleeds out.

With the battle apparently over the sound of the falling water echoes throughout the cavern, occasionally interrupted by a loud groan from an unconscious Kai. Sildar, exhausted and heavily wounded sits on the ground, legs straight out in front of him. "Someone should look after your friend" he suggest, weakly motioning towards Kai, before he lays back exhausted and stares at the ceiling.
OOC:
The goblin is surrendering, all of the other baddies are dead, and Kai is dying (2 of 3 failed death throws). Any two of you can attempt to stabilize him before I'll ask for another death roll. (If someone has 'Spare the Dying' that would work as well). There is one last room in the caves to explore (the one that Klarg charged out of).
Aug 11, 2016 2:01 am
Aye Kai you brave, but bravery only last while the blood is still in your body. I walk over to Kai and kneel now next to him is there anyone who can help him. I'm not good with people when their blood is leaking from there body but I'm willing to help who ever is more experienced.
Aug 11, 2016 7:20 pm
Luka lets out a large breath, and puts her things away. Now I can work. Excuse me. She kneels down next to Kai, and uses "Spare the Dying"
Aug 11, 2016 8:00 pm
Colten took a forlorn look at Puck, then at the bugbear and wolf at his feet, then let out a sigh. What a waste of life, and to think they want to be equals, with me? Lighting a torch, he wanders off into the last room, Klarg's room, on his own.
OOC:
Colten does a quick check of what Klarg has on his person, then walks into the next room to see what's in there.

Investigation - (1d20+1)

(19) + 1 = 20

Aug 12, 2016 1:19 am
As the energy flows through Luka and into her patient Kai lets out a loud groan and starts to breath in a more rhythmic pattern. For now he's out of any immediate danger. Not finding anything of note on Klarg, Colten lights up a torch and ascends the stairs into the next cavern.

In the middle of the cavern is a fire pit, coals still glowing red hot, with hunks of meat in various states of preparation. There's a natural chimney off to Colten's right, and a piles of sacks and crates throughout the place. A closer search through the supplies reveals that most are marked with the image of a blue lion, the symbol of the Lionshield Coster, a well known merchant company with a trading post and warehouse in Phandalin.

Digging a little deeper into the supplies Colten finds a chest hidden under several sacks of grain.
OOC:
If Kai is not healed in some fashion he'll gain 1HP in 1d4 hours.

Colten wordlessly moves to the chest and checks to see if it opens.

I have a feeling that the key that dwarf picked up fits here, but let's take a look.
Aug 12, 2016 3:42 am
With a quick check of the chest Colten discovers that it has been left unlocked. Lifting the lid he finds:

600cp
110sp
Two vials of red liquid
And a jade statuette of a frog with tiny golden orbs for eyes
OOC:
At this point the cave has been cleared (other than the goblin that has surrendered). Everyone earns 275XP (for a total of 350) which means everyone gets to level up once the goblin has been dealt with and the party decides on its course of action after they've rested.
Aug 12, 2016 4:12 am
"Not even a single piece of gold? These bandits are terrible at their job." Colten said aloud, his voice echoing in the chamber. He takes another look around at the Lionshield Coster merchandise then rejoins the rest of the group.

"Well, I think that's the last room here. There is a chest of coin, a couple small vials of red liquid, and a pretty jade frog. There is also a pile of supplies that be belong to the Lionshield Coster." Colten crouches next to Klarg's corpse. He sees to contemplate whether or not he should further dirty his blade, before setting to work on cutting off the bugbear's head.

Aug 12, 2016 5:35 am
Perhaps Kai, you stab them more than they stab you. standing I walk over to Colten. Find any thing good in here? seeing what content has I cast detect magic and look around the room for any magic sources.
Aug 12, 2016 8:32 am
Luka put one of her hands on her chest, and wiped sweat from her brow with the other. With a large sigh, Oh thank you, Suna.
Aug 12, 2016 3:16 pm
Looking over the open chest Delg notices that both of the red vials give off a magical aura, but nothing else in either of the two rooms appears to be enhanced in any way.

The lone goblin has finally finished his tantrum and notices that no one in particular is paying attention to him. Ducking into some shadows he slinks off towards the bridge.
OOC:
Everyone can take a perception check to see if they can detect the goblin moving. Everyone should also level up at this point, for your HPs you can either roll or take the average value (+CON Modifier) for you hit dice. Either way, specify your option in the character creation thread. You should also discuss what the party plans on doing next.

Goblin Stealth - (1d20+6)

Colten was not paying attention to the goblin, and was otherwise uninterested to the little creature. He was overall disappointed with the whole experience today, as none of the foes proved challenging. . . except for a stupid ledge. Cutting through the neck of a bugbear proved to be a more difficult experience than he anticipated, but his persistence eventually prevailed.

"What is the next part of the plan, Master Whitehill?"
Colten casually crouched next to the older gentleman. Klarg's head hit the floor with a wet plop. "To Phandalin? Perhaps we can bring back some of the things that Klarg took?"
Aug 14, 2016 12:42 am
the fact that this bandits nest has been taken care of might bring some renowned for your self and a possible bounty for kalrgs head Kai is slow to move as he knows his injuries almost took his life just need to take it slow

Ignoring Colten's faux pas with regards to his last name, Sildar looks up at the nobleman and says, "First off, I think we should rest. While not the most hospital place I've ever spent time in, I think this cave is as good a place as any. I would like to head to Phandalin, as I have some business to attend to there, and if you are all willing to escort me on the trip, I can secure 50 pieces of gold for your trouble."

Taking a wineskin from his pack, he shakes it a bit only to discover it's empty. He tosses it to the side, "Damned beasts!"
Aug 14, 2016 3:32 am
"Here. Enjoy." Colten said hesitantly, holding his own wine skin at Sildar. While he was not exactly happy to part with his diminishing skin of fine wine, Sildar needed it more right now.

With that, the nobleman left the group again to sniff around the Lionshield supplies for more wine.

Luka takes a seat. Yes. A rest would be much appreciated.

Healer feat. Dose one roll for everyone work or do you want multiple - (1d6+4)

(3) + 4 = 7

"Many thanks, good sir" Sildar nods to Colten as he takes a few drinks from the wineskin. "If there are goods belonging to Lionshield Coster in these caves I'm sure they'd be willing to pay for their recovery" he suggests as Colten goes off to search the goods for some more wine.

The captured items in Klarg's cavern are bulky and Colten determines that a wagon will be necessary to move them. After a bit of searching he does find a small cask of wine, but unfortunately its not a very food vintage.
OOC:
Kai would have to roll for each character that he wants to heal, spending one use of his healer's kit each time. Alternatively you can all just take a long rest and recover 100% of your HP (which is what I'm going to assume is happening unless I hear otherwise).

At this point I need to know what the party would like to do. You have an abandoned wagon that you left on the trail, stolen items that you can recover for possible profit, continue your search for Gundren (although you don't know the location of Cragmaw Castle), escort Sildar to Phandalin, so forth, and so on.
