OOC:
The aim of this scene is introduce the players to the setting and the mystery
As players arrive to the Manor, they find it empty. As they explore they will experience strange supernatural events and trigger their curses.

They will need to learn that corpses have been disappearing from the graveyard and will see or heard the undead during the night, learning about the chainyard.

Curses to trigger:
* The Curse of the Dying Flesh: Gift if seeing the last few moments before death. The player that touches the Caretaker in the graveyard will see him being killed in a sort of ritual, and then Cettish next to a girl with a slashed throat holding a bloody knife. Presumably the player will think this is a vision of the future, but it's actually how the caretaker died. For Dr_B, he may also feel other people are familiar. location graveyard
* The Curse of the Speech: The spirits talk to you, so you will sense them when you enter the ballroom.. They will try to keep the player dancing. There will be a paper in a dead language the player can understand to initiate conversation about some cruel dead related to one of the Grave-reft Avenger.location ballroom creepy candleflames turn blue when the player enters the room (Blue flame from a Candle - Said to be a warning sign that spirits are about.)
* The Curse of the Rookery: The players notice the raven all the time. Sometimes, it feels like that are watching them. Any player going out of the manor into the gardens or something (probably the last one to trigger a curse) will just find a murder of crows staring at them. And then, they warn the player about the moon and
the who hides underneath.
* The mocking visage: This is about reflections, so it could work for Cettish to watch herself kill someone during the night as a shadowy precense watched (this is lady greyrose offereing her first sacrifice to the lord of ashes) main bedroom
* The Curse of the Gargoyle (optional): The player feels the statues in the graveyard are too real, some even seem to be following him with their eyes. At soem point, one seems to move.

Player's must:
* Figure out there is a deadline
* Find out about the missing corpses. Likely suspect of the volva.
* Maybe figure out the chain is broken already (optional)
* Hear or see undead walking around the manor.

Locations needed:
* graveyard
* ballroom
* bedroom

2. The Theft of the Dead

Someone has begun to break into the Graveyard and is stealing both newly dead and the long dead.

This is a bit on the scientist part, not supernatural. The Surgeon, having heard the rumors of the dead rising in the chainyard, started to smuggle corpses to the Doctor’s Guild. The Vörð Nafjarðar are investigating this and thing the Doctor’s Guild is mixed with necromancy.

Also, lead the players into thinking the Vörð Nafjarðar are part of Les Damoiselles de la Triskèle... just make the setting have more moving parts?

3. The Chains Have Been Broken
Someone or something has broken the chains in the Chainyard and those that rest there are starting to rise beyond the control of anyone.

This is likely a Rival branch of the Family (the politician). Touched at a distance by the Lord of Ashes, this unknown family has been tasked with taking over the Yard, and quickly, for the Lord does not accept failure. They lead a useless cult who somehow managed to call a Revenant. This creature will only reveal itself when the players repair the chain. The Caretaker has noticed the problem but doesn't know how to find the troll. So players need to go into town, figure how what a troll is and find the Troll Smithy. Maybe he'll ask for some exotic component like the moon light captured in a tear of a werewolf or something. the werewolves will be agitated because of what is going on in the bog. leads to 4. Town

4. Town

Werewolves are not happy with what's happenign in the bog. Open that area and meet the The Bog-tender: The person assigned the task of trying to keep the bog at bay. leads into 5. The Bog is Boiling

Maybe have the The Politician (More concerned with using their family’s Curses towards their own gains. This person tends to have the Curse of Speech and is able to gather the secrets of their political opponents to be able to out maneuver them) trying to persuade the players to destroy the werewolves because they cause trouble in the village. Some wolves hunters or something in town? Have people disappearing not because of the werewolves, but because of the bogeyman.

As a red herring, players can find information on a cult and assume they are the ones behind the reanimation. There's also a mystic in town who claims to revive the dead, so players may want to investigate the man (who does petty miracles)

5.
Something is causing the Bog to boil and things are seen shifting underneath its surface.

Antagonists The Sleeping One- Brawn 5, Guile 1, "Immortal", "Slow of thought", and "Growing".
That which lays beneath the Bog is actually a sentient mass of the Dead that joined together in the primal tar that filled the sinkhole. It’s multiple minds means that it takes time to come up with an idea, but, once it has one, it is hard to find a way around it. It wants to spread and gain more minds to add to its already large collective. It is impossible to kill, others have tried but to no avail.

6. Preparing for the Lord’s return

players should be figuring out what is going on and decide if they will ready and calm the lands for the Lord’s return, or will you work against him to bring the dead to full rest?

The People of The Mound may be trying to promote the ritual because of the dead/nature duality of the Lord. have then in conflict with Les Damoiselles de la Triskèle?

* Importantly, at some point the "Lady Greyrose" PC will be attacked by a vampire. That's the progenitor trying to stay alive (she may lead Les Damoiselles since she feed on other's vital energy )

Antagonists The Lord
He is unhappy with the progress of the family and has decided to replace them with another family who will work better to achieve his mysterious goals. Each Mark gained by family members from their Curses adds 1 point to be assigned to The Lord’s traits. The more the family has indulged in their Gifts, the more
powerful he becomes.

Antagonists all over the game Knights of Savoy.
