Chapter One: An Abduction!
It's August 1st 109 PA, and it's a hot and humid summer day in Northern Arkansas. You all are spending the day resupplying in Drellin's Ferry, a high traffic trading post. It's the sort of place that attracts a dozen new faces a day, and watching your back is mandatory. Officially governed by no one, the peace is fragile, but the deals and information are good. You've been on patrol for two weeks now, and the chance for fresh food and a breather was too good to pass up.

All of a sudden Cassiopeia's radio crackles with static. It's tuned to an official Tomorrow Legion emergency channel, so whoever is broadcasting must be a comrade in arms and in trouble. "This is Emilio Hernandez with a Communications Infrastructure Team broadcasting a DEFCON 3 emergency. We are under attack by... STATIC... I repeat... STATIC... need immediate assistance. We are at Radio Relay Tower Beta 12. Repeat... STATIC... slavers... need... STATIC assistance."

I-So looks over towards Cass, "That tower isn't to far off is it?" I-So has been helping other people more and more the more time he's spent away from his parents it's led him to realize that life wasn't as easy as it had been for him, many people who had been born like him would have died, but his family had everything and that meant they had the ability to save his life, because of that he was not less healthy than the average person but instead more and so even away from the support of his parents money once he put in effort he'd done well enough to get more than he needed he'd realized he was lucky and so he'd tried to help others.

"Slavers..." I-So knew they existed but he had no Idea what they we're like.

"I'm Headed out! who's coming with me?"

Lanval was waiting to served at a dubious meat-on-a-stick stall but the moment Emilo's name is mentioned he bolts out of line to join the others. "If Emilo says he needs help, it must be a serious assault. He can usually take care of himself. Let's get moving."

The tower is twenty miles to the south through some light woods. You all are mounted on NG-480 Turbo Combat Hoverbikes, and can reach the relay tower in minutes. The bikes are equipped with a double barrel heavy laser on a swivel ball under the nose. You're also equipped with any small arms and personal armor of your choice. And we can assume you have survival gear and provisions for long patrols.

"Twenty miles to the south through some light woods. Let's ride!" Cass glowers at the idea of attack. It had been peaceful.

She powers the bike and waits for the others. When it's clear they've heard her as the call for help, she triggers her psi-armor, ready for a storm.

Lanval swings onto the seat of his bike and nods to Cassiopeia. He takes a moment to trigger three runes on his clothes to activate a personal force armor.

I-So practically is his own armor, but he hops aboard his bike, calling it a NG-480 wouldn't technically be wrong but it certainly wouldn't be right either the amount of modification he had done to it just to make it so he could ride it, plus the fact that it seemed to have been around for longer than they'd been making NG-480's made it stand out but also because the laser had certainly been replaced.

Aboard the bike I-So looks from side to side "This It?" he asks he'd expected a greater portion of the population to have a good heart but he supposed greed was easy when you didn't have enough.

You speed through the woods, over a stream, and onto an open plain. 1000 feet away is the radio relay tower, stretching one hundred feet into the sky. Before it is a fiery wreck of an ATV, around which lay several bodies, some burned, some with wounds from an energy weapon. As you pull up, a floating vehicle hovers above the ground in front of a full conversion cyborg. Several figures on the floating platform are firing plasma weapons at him. With what sounds like a final scream the borg falls under the withering barrage. Off in the distance another platform is moving away at approximately fifty miles an hour.

CC Rides the bike straight for it, preparing to fire her heavy laser at the gunmen.

"Target the shields and the Warrior Women. Without its toys the slaver is comparatively weak." Lanval approaches the slave ship falling back a bit as he takes his hands off the controls to summon the forces of his magic against the slavers.

I am attempting to create an advantage to create the Aspect "Slowed by Temporal Magic" on the slave barge using my temporal magic stunt. I believe that is +4 for lore with a +2 from the stunt. I've included a roll but if I have any of that wrong let me know.

Fate Condensed uses elective action order to determine who takes their turn when in an exchange. It works like this. We all decide who goes first, then that person chooses who goes next, and then they choose who's next, and so on. Is everyone okay with Lanval taking the first action?

I-So stares out at the ship, it's Incredible but it's shooting down someone, so I-So responds quickly mental Image already in his mind I-So does a few quick calculations 'flight path in 10 second will move them px-v distance and my flight path should put me... txv ahead of...' he turns at the last moment hoping to get the right flight path to board the ship, as long as I didn't get any math wrong this should work he tells himself over and over as he flies through the air for what seems like minutes.

So, we decide who goes first as group. I am suggesting that you let Lanval go first to put an aspect on the Splurgoth that the rest of you can take advantage of. If anyone else has a different suggestion, feel free to say so.

I feel like it makes sense that anyone who wants to create an advantage goes first then after that either attack or overcome, doesn't quite matter as much with those actions.

Arcane energy swirls around Lanval, who releases it at the Barge, trying to change it's temporal state. The Slaver piloting the barge, a multi-tentacled monstrosity, strains his will against Lanval's. The Barge crackles with that same energy and shimmers momentarily.

Lanval, you tied on your roll to Create an Advantage, so you don't not create the aspect. Instead you get a Boost you can invoke once for free against the Barge.

I-So leaps into the air off his bike at the Barge. The Slaver jinks to try and avoid him. I-So lands on the Barge but hits the side coming in. He flips over and falls.

I think it's really cool that you tried to jump onto the Barge. You fail, but land on it anyway. You take on the temporary aspect of Laying Prone.

The four Altara Warrior Women sitting at the firing points of the Barge scatter, trying to avoid being hit. The Slpugorth Slaver dodges as best it can. Three of the Altarans take hits square on, and drop to the deck, out of action. The last barely avoids the barrage. Several laser blasts strike the Slaver, and it howls in pain.

Altara Warrior Women A, C and D are out of the fight. B tied on her defense roll, so CC gets a Boost on her. The Slaver failed, but absorbed the four shifts it received as Stress.

@Qralloq Does Mondel go, or the opposition?

Mondel's careful observation of the Barge shows that the engines on the underside of the vehicle make for an obvious target. The Engines are visible aspect is now available to be invoked, and Mondel you get one free invocation of it.

The Slaver turns the Barge and fires its front blaster at CC.

I-So pulls one arm forward to block the blow to his chest as his arm moves up it freezes in place stiff for a brief moment as I-So braces himself as much as possible for the Incoming Blow, at the same moment realizing what he got wrong in his calculations. 'Next Time I-So Next Time.'

With a curse Lanval tries to avoid the incoming fire but the slaver is too quick. Lanval manages to turn his bike at the last second to take the brunt of the blast but he is still Singed by Laser Fire.

Turning the hoverbike in a tight 270 degree turn, Cassiopeia unloads the forward mounted heavy laser on the slave barge underbelly. Hoping to hit the repulsor system and crash it, she grits her teeth as the bike swings wildly under her before squeezing the firing pin.

The Slaver is put to it again. He horribly misjudges the direction of the lightning and flies right into its path. The Barge is subsumed with electrical energy. It's engines sputter and stop, and it comes crashing to the ground in front of all of you.

As the entire barge falls I-So feels a singular wind spirt guiding him downwards pushing and pulling until he is standing upright and then at the last moment slowing his fall, 'Thank the gods' he thinks but the remembers that the reason this spirt is helping him could very well be that it thinks he's a god sort of Ironic.

Lanval, the 'borg is in bad shape, but there's nothing you can do for him without the help of a Cyber-Doc or someone else familiar with cybernetics. He's still alive, which means he's probably going to stay alive. 'Borgs are tough.

Cassiopeia, most of the others around the ATV are dead. There's nothing you can do for them. There is one still alive. He was thrown from the barge when it hit the ground.

the NG-480 Turbo Combat Hoverbike, triple hover engine, turbo charges up to 360mph under optimal conditions... Wicker trails of into a confused diatribe about the engine, but manages even in this confused state to crawl on the Hoverbike and hold tight.

Looking at the Borg he absent-mindedly says: Nice model that one, I read its manual sometime I think...

Wicker is able to find just the right combination of rewiring and bolt tightening to allow the 'borg to get up and walk. He's still in horrible shape, but he should be able to travel slowly under his own power. It will take him the rest of the day to get to Drellin's Ferry, the nearest town.

He hopes this will give him a little breathing space before his pursuers catch up with him again.

You all strike off to the east, after the fleeing barge. With the speed your bikes can muster you should be able to catch it in an hour or so. You pass through the woods, and over a small stream.

Cassiopeia blasts forward, her inclination to lead by example. Her bike stretched to top speed, she makes sure the other ones can keep up -- given their heavier loads, she has to ease back on the throttle a little to keep them tightly together. The thrill of the high speed run through woods and field teases her senses, and she can't help but swell with exhilaration then worry about the fate of the abducted. With every mile, the slavers get closer to their base and rescue becomes more daunting.

She squeezes a little more speed from the group.

"I didn't say you could have the whole bike!" I-So protests as he and Wicker speed along the space left for him is tiny especially when I-So is keeping a little space between them to keep Wicker from freezing, maybe it would have been better to have Wicker on a different bike but he'd offered.
