I think it's one per character and at least another player must have a hint of it, but being a secret is ok. They will come one when you need to restore your dice pool, so I wouldn't worry too much about that

You just don't get a curse according to the rules (but get more assets in turn). Weird is not supernatural power, it can be supernatural intuition and willpower and so on. Even if you're not cursed, you might resist the supernatural well or feel its manifestations and that sort of thing.
I'll also clarify that you can roll any dice even if it is a "weird" check. Doesn't have to match. The difference that 6s are worth more if the "color" matches (and how you'd narrate it I guess)
