Dean if every healing potion in the city has turned bad, and yours don't then get to it. We can sell them at ten times the normal price. At least. Start cooking, and I will get some more roots.
Your father closes the shop and touches the doorframe with his screwdriver. Dean recognises that he properly sealed or warded the door.

Some hours he returns with 3 roots. It's a shame you didn't buy the all. The price was up to 25gp pr root, and 3 was all I could get. How is the cooking going? Your cooking is going as expected, but you still have a few hours to go.
OOC:
Normally you can make one potion at the time, but for it to make sense for a potion crafter to have a business, then I would say that you, could tend extra brewing station, provided you have a dedicated lab (you have). The DC for Alchemy or Herbalisme is 8 pr crafting station beyond the first. Are you tending 2 crafting stations the DC is 8, tending 3, and the DC is 16. You still have to be able to cast the spells at the right time. Fail would mean the resources are lost

Alright, but please don't get too greedy, i don't want to gather a lot of attention... he blushes and scratches behind his head, Dean always has been a bit shy... then he thinks for a moment I think that you shouldn't get too caught up with buying the roots and wait a bit, if the problem is true, then their price should drop soon... When people realize that it's not because of a bad batch of roots... he returns to the brew, using 2 stations at a time...

At the end of the day, you infuse 2 potions with the healing magic and your potions are stable. You might be having the two only healing potions for sale in the hole of Waterdeep
May 26, 2022 7:28 pm
Dean attempts to infuse One of the failed potions with his magic, using the last of his spellslots before hiding the good potions away and going to bed, it the infusion has no effect on the spoiled potion.

OOC:
cool! Did'nt think of that. Let me roll some dice
After infusing the other potions with healing magic, Dean casts an extra healing spell on the potion his father made. Something happened, it briefly turned red, before turning back to the dull liquid. The magic didn't stick, perhaps if he reheats the potion first?

The lad makes a note for himself about the heating and a note to his father about not discarding the bad potions, he needs them for experiments.

He is exhausted and after hiding away the potions heads straight to bed...

What is that 12?

Ha ha! Good morning son! Your father is grinning like an idiot. I just sold your two new potions for 200gp each. My boy is the only one who can produce stable healing potions in all Waterdeep. We are going to get rich!

Its a little past 8 in the morning. After you had your breakfast you find yourself in the lab with your brewing stations and 3 creates of 12 brown healing potions. Did you want to experiment on the brown ones? I bought you a few boxes cheap, if nothing else, we got some potion flasks, they just need to be cleaned.
You have a feeling that you are not going to see much sunlight today.

Good morning, I am glad about it father, but I do not feel like brewing today. Yesterday got me spent. Walks to the cash register and takes 200 gp out I will be heading to the market, I need some other things for my experiments Dean puts the coin in his bag and prepares to head out. He looks at his father trying to read the mans mood... before going he asks Have there been any orders regarding the firearms or ammunition?

Your father is non too pleased that you won't be brewing new potions today. He even offers to shop on your behalf, but you manage to get out the door. As you walk down to the market you think you see someone following you.

The Woman

In the market, while you gather your shopping, you are approached by a beautiful woman. Are you Dean, son of Leopold, of the Leopold artifacts and potions shop? She is a sight for any young man, especally one who have been spending his days in the lab for to long.

It happens between his walk from the herbalists and to the miners, metal purifier, he had already spent approximately 100 gp on the ingredients needed for his paralytic poison, as any deadly upon intake in large quantities. He stops near the metal trader and looks at the woman who approached her... Interesting how did Hawk let someone follow me without letting me know? Does the bird perhaps need a chance of oil.... Who are you? his eyes slightly widen at the sight of the woman...He doesn't answer right ahead, a bit shook die to the sudden approach Yes... Do i know you? You don't look like one of our common customers. If you were i would have remembered... he slightly blushes saying the last part. Spending as much time as he has in the workshop has made the lad a bit shy.... Well.. shy enough to blush when admitting that someone looks good...

Not wishing to sound ackward he continues... After all he has to keep his dignity as a crafter... I'm sorry, but if you're here to do business i would like to address that within the walls of the shop, right now i am off duty. someone like her would never approach someone like me, women like that usually go for rich traders or nobles, not dusty crafters... he sighs, trying to return his thoughts to the right source, after all, he still needs to purchase some metals for his firearms...

And it is of duty I want to speak. I have a job proposal for you. A way to serve this great city. And on a personal note, I would be ever so grateful if you would join me for lunch in the Cavaye. Dean has head about the Cavaye restaurant. They have the best chefs you can get - and somewhat decadent. Good steak, sushi served on a naked woman, live worms. Whatever you fancy, they can provide. You pay an arm and a leg, and in the evening reservations are made months in advance.

Well I will take that 16 int is enough to understand that a sexy blond + an extremely fancy place out of nowhere is just obviously fishy...
Dean scratches the back of his head and gives the woman an awkward smile Then how about we continue the chat back at the store, if you don't mind. He points to a nearby metal shop. Right now I am running an errand, I need some metal for my work. then he holds his breath for a while and tells her before entering the metal shop. Please dont take it against yourself, but the Cavaye sounds way beyond my usual standards, I am afraid that I might have a panic attack at such a place.

He enters the store and takes his time picking out the metals for his projects...he spends his last 100gp and heads back, if the woman is gone that means, he was right and she indeed did have ulterior motives. He will make Hawk scout the perimeter so that he's notified if someone decides to approach him...

OOC:
Obviously very fishy, but it is a soft opening approach, that if it works is the easiest for all parties.
Very well then. See you later. She purres.

When Dean returns to the streets the woman is gone. As Dean walks back through the streets of Waterdeep, both he and Hawk are uneasy, like someone is following them, but they don't see anyone.
OOC:
Where does Dean go next? Back to his fathers artificer shop?

Dean shudders and heads to the guild keeping sure that he goes trough majorly populated areas.... he doesn't see anyone, but he has a really bad hunch...

Hawk continues to be on the lookout.

I must find out if I'm the only one who's not affected by the fading syndrome! At best if none finds out that i can brew the potions, i hope that father can keep his mouth shut ...
Jun 6, 2022 9:56 am
After revising the guild, Dean learns that every healing potion in the city is not functioning. Adventures are scrambling out of the Yarning portal, an inn and entrance to a huge dungeon underneath Waterdeep. Clerics are on rotation down there to heal all the injured ones, who had put their faith in the potions.

Other adventures have been sent outside the city, and teleported to other big cities, like Candlekeep and Baldurs Gate to see if they have similar problems. They are waiting for answers.

Those with magic abilities can cast healing spells like normal, but no one can seem to be able to bind the healing magic to liquid form anymore. There are rumours about some who can produce a stable healing potion, but there are hundreds of rumours going around. Including that the gods have retaken the knowledge, that some hero stole centuries ago (Aking to Prometheus stealing fire from the gods)
Jun 7, 2022 6:19 pm
After listening a bit to the rumours Dean heads out the guild using one of the many less noticeable entrances, he heads back home....I think the whole situation has got me paranoid over nothing...

Once home and in private he will ask his father about the people that he sold his potions to...

Back at the potion shop, your father and some city guards, you recognise two of them, are holding off several agitated customers, who all demand to buy the last healing potions in the city. These are not the common man, but all seem like experienced and hardent adventures.
[ +- ] you know, these kinds of folks
You stop some 10 meters away from the spectacle. A woman walks up and watches the scene with you. Don't you think it is time that we got out of here?
Your hawk makes a warning cry as you see a man from each street opening walking towards you. Tree in total. There are dressed is leather armour and carry shortswords. Not in any threatening way, but they are armed.
Oh shit your lady friend mutters.
