OOC:
Are Florence and Perry doing anything this round?
Jun 23, 2022 6:51 am
Florence hangs back in relative safety with her boy. She's not a coward, but his safety is paramount, second only to her deep concern about what's happening with her boarding house and the people that live there.

OOC:
Not to mention Mr Schmidt pulling Ma Shanks' antique lamp out of the wall and heading upstairs with it!

Perry considers joining the fray, but realizes it is absolutely not his job. Plus, if the creature really does want what he's carrying, there's absolutely no way it should be allowed to fall into its hands, right? Yeah, that sounds sensible.

That said, he will draw his pistol and peer up the stairs, although he'll refrain from firing for now for fear of hitting someone.

"Mr. Schmidt!" Florence calls, "What are you doing?!"
Jun 23, 2022 7:29 am
"Fighting back!" Lang shouted a bit too loudly at Florence, the denial and slammed door added to his fear. He wasn't the strongest but he could at least shield Ms. Baker.

"You and the boy stay behind me. If that... that thing gets down here, I'll try to slow it down so you can get out, OK?"

Florence simply nods at Mr. Du Bois's words, a hand guardedly on Tommy's shoulder.

OOC:
Are you putting any of the books down to hold the gun? Currently they are under each arm and all are fairly cumbersome.

OOC:
Small correction, that's Ma Shanks' lamp, not Ma Bakers'!
Jun 23, 2022 11:21 am
With shots firing all round, the thing stands back and again the horrible keening whistle begins, causing all the more horrific images and colours to flood your vision.

Round 6
OOC:
With Malone and Sam Dazed, we're back to Otto and his double-handed brass lamp.

Big Brass Lamp: Fighting (Brawl) , Damage 1d8+2+Damage Bonus

"Keep running!" Otto says to Florence, her boy, and anyone else around to listen. "Go -- out the front door, down the street! Away from the sound! My God, that sound!"
OOC:
Otto is holding at the bottom of the stairs with the lamp, ready to strike. He doesn't know the two upstairs are stunning, and he has no intention of running to his death -- just wants to buy everyone time. Hope that works.
