This is a place for us all to throw in tidbits of information that we derive from what's briefly described in the rules.

1. Instead of dying from tuberculosis, King Louis XIII was decapitated at behest of his Council. The miraculous survival of the royal head struck shame in the Council, who collectively agreed to maintain Louis XIII as a revered figurehead of government. Actual government, however, is implemented by agents of the Council, who are commonly called Richelieus after their first commandant Armand Jean Cardinal Richelieu. Of course beloved Armand long since has been succeeded by his ecclesial* descendants.

*Only ecclesial?

2. The miracle of the royal head inspired a cult-like veneration of the sovereign, which led to permanent separation of the French Rite from the Roman Church (much like the Anglicans, but skinnier, smoking cigarettes, and enjoying finer wine and cuisine). Thus, the player characters not only are political but also clerical agents. They may be called upon to assist with spiritual duties, such as confessions or blessings.

3. After losing so much in the Appalachian War, the Head refused to get embroiled in the British Colonial War. Accordingly, there are no United States. Instead, the revolutionaries all were transported to Australia.
