Hello LauraChiGio, welcome to the game. You can start by making a character. There's instructions in the first page.

The bombing started at 02:00 and lasted for about half an hour of hell. Enough explosives were dropped to create a fire tornado that burned so hot, melting streets and people. Most buildings collapsed, pretty much all infrastructure is dead.

I railroaded all of your characters a little bit just to get you together for practical reasons (hard to keep track of a divided group), but it kinda makes sense with the shock of the first moments that you 'lost control' a little bit.

I generally don't do this, don't worry.

Everyone as this game may be a bit more gritty and have rougher themes, please let us know in this thread what to avoid and what is red line for you.

Also at any point in the game if it's too much please speak up or private message me and we will change themes right away.

For me as GM I will not have any explicit sexual themes in the game and I will not have any explicit or implied sexual violence. I will not have explicit torture. I will not have explicit harm to children. These are pretty much my red lines for this game.

Mix of recollection and flashback seems appropriate for such traumatic premise.

There seems to be already people there helping.. There are survivors in need of help and people are still going in the parts of the building bringing out injured and dead.

There seems to be just one drone that is engaging you.

It has been zooming around policing several groups of people, some of them disperse but individuals join up again, loiter etc

So if it is a drone it must be operated by someone. If it can see the crowds and Maeve’s crowbar, then there is someone the other side controlling it and watching us. So attack is a bad idea, it would just tell them we are dangerous.

I think the best strategy is to go away in smaller groups to other sides of the street and slowly and calmly make our way to Maeve’s bar individually.

According to your current understanding of drones and technology that is correct. However the voice speaking to you is very mechanical and seems to be repeating several phrases like pre recorded. But it seems to be following instructions but not exactly like remote controlled.

Since you attacked the drone, I'll wait to see what everyone does before resolving it. I assume everyone acts within the same few seconds so you may see what others are going for but I'd rather see what everyone does before I resolve the actions.

So I decided to not resolve the possible melee attack since the drone was already attacked from distance and it had already a prepared action. If it had missed, Maeve would have gotten an attack. But right now she got shot (but is alive) so I will think of the right consequences.

Fights are short, brutal, and better avoided in this setting.

The hammer throw hit the drone but didn't damage it. It did make it shoot to hit on a 1/6 instead of it's normal 3/6. You were just unlucky.

The can hit well, and damaged it enough to drop it to the ground.

I think you rolled the wrong thing. You need to roll 3d6 and take the lower

Is it possible for Katerina to grab Maeve to her and pull her in and shield? I guess she would be able to see Maeve is hurt?

I'll let you try to pull Maeve in, but if you fall then both of you will be partially exposed. If you succeed you will be both fully covered.

It will be a roll against difficulty 12 and of course you can spend Endurance as usual.

Only 5 endurance left, I will risk it!

Just reminding the rules for recovering Endurance.

Just to give you an idea about how this will work now. We will take 'exploration turns' approximately 10-15 minutes of action. You can do something like dress wounds, rest and eat, Scavenge etc. One action per turn, dress it as you want, and of course continue the great RP.

at the end of each turn I'll roll 1d6+(elapsed turns). If I roll 6+ then the reinforcements the drone called will arrive. So you have the option to spend lots of time there helping, searching, healing etc - or you can move on quickly.

E.g. someone can dress a wound. Someone can scavenge. Someone can help scavenge. Someone can retrieve all the dropped equipment. Someone can search the drone debris for something useful. Someone can help someone else. Etc etc etc each of these things would take a 'turn'

Does this mean it is one of us do one thing and then you roll or we can all do one thing then you roll?

@LauraChiGio each player can do a thing + as much RP as they want. Then I will roll...

A basic map of Gardassia City. You can pick in which neighborhood the action is taking place if you want. I would think maybe Center?

I feel like @panalexiou ran a little faster than I could keep up with - I would have liked to spend some Endurance to help Maeve search.

I'm sorry @tibbius since Maeve already rolled I took it as an action. It should have been declared before the roll...

If you want to search as well, you can roll with the same conditions (advantage) since you were a local customer of the bar.

Konstantos is concerned that he doesn't have the spoons for this. It's after 0200 and he is tired not only from the immediate stress but also from long days previously working on the new fuel cell design. That all seems futile in the present moment, and the sense of worthless effort drags at him as he moves to search the bar.

Is it still possible to go look at the drone?

Yes you didn't actually do an action so you can roll for looking at the drone. Please let me know if you're looking for something specific and if you have some specific skill you want to use. Otherwise is the usual 2d6 roll.

Where do you guys want to head now?

Some clear options seem like:

- Investigate the whereabouts of Lena
- Try to find Dan's family
- Try to find safe shelter to spend the night.

But anything goes. You can discuss here and let me know so I can prep a bit.

Maeve is also a bit with a light concussion, right?

Konstantos is down to Endurance 1.

I'll have one of you roll for this (I'll give you advantage since you know the area well) and you can spend Endurance as usual (other players can pitch in with endurance)

Ok all, this was the end of Chapter 1. Your characters made it to relative safety...

Now the question is, do you want to keep playing in this setting and system, are you tired of it and want to stop, what do you feel like doing?

If not everyone wants to continue, we can invite other players to join.

I suggest a cut-scene to some later time in the occupation, after everyone's restored to full Endurance and Dan's leg has healed.

Yes if we continue I would suggest a few weeks later, and you can get 'trained' in one skill at the bunker so you will have a small character development...

What might happen in that time? Is Gardassia in occupation, are we still running, resistance, trying to imagine the kind of game it will be from that point.

I was thinking that you would have the underground as a base and you can decide to be part of resistance. If you have different ideas I'm open to anything.

I will stick around if the others are interested.

I'm interested. Konstantos definitely would gravitate to a resistance. His life's work is literally ruined. Nothing to lose.
