upload character avatar from url?

Hello brilliant developers. Would it be possible to change the upload image for avatars by referencing a URL instead of having to download a picture and then uploading it to the character sheets?

Would be pretty awesome
And also to allow copy-pasting, like the instant imgur upload

There are licensing issues that the site would assume if it fetches images from other people. If the players do the accessing we can claim plausible-deniability on copyright infringement.

Can someone suggest a simple UI for this that doesn't suck?

Let people enter a URL instead of an image when choosing an avatar?

There are bandwidth and availability issues if we fetch images from the original source (or pinterest which already stole them and destroyed the provenance) but it has the benefit of showing where the images came from.

We are already doing that with NPC tags.
