Shrugging, Ken says 'So main power on, tactical droid off?' He looks about the place, wondering what the purpose of the facility is, and hoping the salvage is worth the risk.

"Could this have been a separatist base? I don't know much about them, other than the stories handed down." Nox begins shifting nervously, thinking there may be more to this base that the team originally thought.

"I can't imagine what strategic value this location would have had. Perhaps an outpost?" AD-hoc says looking around. "Let's see about restoring the power, but first . . ."

is there a way to see if someone would be contacted when we boot up this facility? Or can we make sure the comms don't turn on?

Once the power is restored, anything that was left 'on' would still need to process through it's initialization phase. You should be able to control what happens from the consoles in front of the Tactical Droid.Aug 19, 2022 9:39 pm

With no idea how to operate the computer systems, Ken decides his best role will be to point his blaster at the tactical droid's head in case it starts moving.

AD-hoc enters the "Main Power Control" room. It is a smaller room, there is one console on the back wall. That console glows faintly, most likely the with Standby power from the generator. Advancing on the console, AD-hoc easily recognizes the power on sequence. Just a couple switches and a button, the lights come on.
Returning to the Control Room, AD-hoc and the others note the windows have polarized slightly. It appears to keep the light in, while still allowing the crew to see out. The tactical droid has not moved and to Meebo, shows no signs of powering up.
On the consoles in front of the droid, Ken watches over AD-hoc's shoulder as the screens begin to fill up with status reports.
Power - ON
Gravity -Initializing
Environmental - Initializing
Sensors - Initializing
Communications - Initializing
As the words scroll onto the screens, you can feel the slight vibrations in the floor as the facility is coming back to life. You make out the mechanical sounds of Environmental systems as the dust on the consoles begins to blow gently as the air is pumped back into the rooms. Your legs begin to feel the tug of gravity is it's slowly increasing and overtaking the pull of your magnetic boots.

AD-hoc looks over what's happening "'Power', that's great, 'Gravity', probably a good idea, 'Environmental' he could take it or leave it, but the rest of the team would probably want to be out of their suits, 'sensors' probably going to be useful, ah 'communication', better stop that one if I can'

AD-hoc taps through the menus to stop Communications from coming online. But just as he goes to interrupt the comms, the status changes to Online. Now faced with a working comms system, he quickly taps through the controls and brings up the message queues. The Outgoing queue is Empty. The Incoming queue contains one message, It appears to be 'read' but marked 'Do not delete'. The date format looks odd, but best guess puts it around 18 years ago.
"Attention all CIS personnel: The CONFEDERACY OF INDEPENDENT SYSTEMS has surrendered to the New Republic. Lay down your arms, close your workstations, shutdown your facility and return home. Any active combat should cease immediately. Any combat troops in the presence of New Republic troops should surrender in order to be processed back to their homes. END TRANSMISSION"

AD-hoc says "All systems appear to be operational." and relays the message to everyone else. "Well, that explains why I was non-operative for such a long time."

"Security wasn't listed in the initialization sequence. I'll look and see what security features there are, although it may have been all droids or automated." Ad-hoc answers before working the console.

AD-hoc starts pulling up info on the base. Most of the files have been deleted, but up pops the Base Schematic.

AD-hoc answers; "A starfighter with a droid brain for a pilot. The repair droids would be similar to me, and the B1 and B2's are battle droids and heavy battle droids, respectively. The Separatist relied heavily on droids for their army. I wonder if that was the reason for their downfall?"
