All across the galaxy, Jedi Knights help beings in need--negotiators, peacemakers, investigators, warriors--there's few roles they don't fill. The traditions of the Jedi order span generations, centuries. Masters train apprentices, who then become knights, then masters themselves, and the training cycle repeats. You are one of those apprentices; a Padawan.

You'll travel the galaxy with your master and fellow apprentice, answering calls for aid, and helping where a Jedi is needed.

Yeah so I really don't know much about the current Star Wars canon, but I know a lot about Legends--so that's the canon I'd like to use for this!

Game can take place in Old Republic, Republic pre-Clone Wars, or New Jedi Order pre-Yuuzhan Vong. The buy-in is that you and a fellow apprentice follow your master (an NPC who will not be stealing the show in any way-shape-or-form). And no matter the era, this is the story of you all on your journey to knighthood so canon events are not the focus.

The tone being aimed for is adventure, investigation, diplomacy, and pulp action. In SWADE I lean away from the tabletop wargame/battle style and lean toward narrative fiction first.

✅ About Me & Playstyle:

I'm Dunko and I like narrative games! I've been hosting SWADE games since its release (never played older editions of Savage Worlds) and I love the system for its flexibility. I make full use of the sub systems--Dramatic Tasks, Quick Encounters, Social Encounters--and shy away from any of the wargame aspect the system still has. I prefer the off the cuff "oh, take a +2/-2 for the situation" over finding a Situational Rule for everything (though honestly they often align :D).

I'm all for OOC conversations in game chat as long as they are relevant to the narrative and scene, and sometimes I prefer OOC talks for the sake of clarity over trying to convey things IC.

Active players who set their scenes and join in shaping the narrative get the most out of sessions with me because usually I'm following their lead, not the other way around!

✅ Game Duration and Post Frequency:

I'm requesting 2 posts a week min--preferably on two separate days. I can handle posting more, but I'm digging laid back posting.

I'd like to at least complete one "mission"--which I can't imagine taking that long. After that we could play all the way up to master if you are all down. Otherwise we'll just call it a good experience.

✅ Player Experience Requirements.

None, really. I think SWADE is a simple system with a pretty well unified resolution mechanic--but in my experience new players can get tripped up on their first couple character creations. I'm more than happy to help any new players get rolling, including making a pre-gen to their specifications.

✅ Welcome Marginalized Groups:

This game is explicitly friendly to LGBT and any other minorities or marginalized groups.

✅ How to Apply:

I'm looking for 2 plays max, but thinking as I'm typing I'd be down with just 1 player (I know lots of folks aren't the biggest fan of 1 on 1 games but I've had many great times with them so I'm open if anyone else is--regardless, I'm hoping for two players). You can express interest here and I'll send out invitations after I have a chance to read any posts.

I would love to play a Jedi centeret Starwars I assume that force powers would be like SWADE spells? I only have a little experience with SWADE

Yes on the Powers being the Force. I flavored the Gifted Arcane background in to Force Adept. There are some powers that wouldn't work--we'd just take them off the table as they come up.

How are you handling the signature Jedi ability to parry ranged attacks?

You Soaked blaster damage; did you deflect those bolts? You're using that grants defence; is it you blocking all the incoming bolts?
You want to hit a bolt back at any enemy; using a fighting action and if successful roll the damage of the blaster bolt at range.

Flavour can't change the odds. In Savage Worlds, ranged attacks target a fixed number. Without a mechanical buff, Jedi will be just as easy to hit as any random Stormtrooper.

Agreed, and that's something I'm OK with 😆. And a player would need to be OK with too.

But Kaiya brings up a great point for all, this is Jedi in narration, just using SWADE framework--not trying to replicate mechanics. I've played enough SWADE for me to be comfortable with that, but I'd be the first to say I'd get if it doesn't fit someone's preferred style.
