Acaelia looked a bit shocked. Those were some very gruesome graphical description of the reavers. What did she sign up for? But still she couldn't help but think for just a second that her skin could actually make very smooth fabric.
She shook her head. No... She wouldn't let any of that happen.
"I don't plan on getting eaten any time soon, ma'am!" she said, trying to sound determined.
She understood the lesson well. Best have her spells at the ready. Best have her magical armor up every possible second. Seeing the captain die, even if it was just an illusion, was a terrible sight. If she hadn't been busy protecting herself with magic, she might have been able to do something.

Johnny is confused for a few more moments as the illusion drops and his target disappeared, but stands at attention quickly at the appearance of Boatswain Tarto. As they are dressed down a flush of red passes over his cheeks upon her assessment, he has fought by himself for to long and embarrassed he left his crew mates.

Spelljammer AcademyWhile adventurers of all stripes explore Faerûn and deal with the perils of ancient ruins, malevolent cults, and long-forgotten tombs, those who come through Spelljammer Academy on Nimbral strive to protect the world from far greater threats. Spelljammer Academy trains cadets for service as Spelljammers and members of the Spelljammer Corps: both branches of a magical navy sworn to protect Toril and to explore other worlds beyond. Few people know of the academy’s existence, and its leaders try to keep it that way.
Mirt the Merciless—also known as "the Old Wolf"—is Spelljammer Academy’s founder and chief financial officer. He manages the institution’s operations alongside a small group of powerful high-ranking officers, known collectively as "the Bridge." While most of its candidates are from Toril, the academy occasionally recruits from outside Realmspace (the Wildspace system that is home to the planet Toril) to bring individuals with unique talents into their ranks. Giff, githyanki, hadozee, plasmoids, and myriad other peoples can join the cadets alongside folk native to Toril.
The academy was founded by Mirt as part of a joint investment with the retired elf adventurer Elmandar, who operates a shop on the Rock of Bral—a city built on an asteroid. Prince Andru, the monarch of Bral, has invested heavily in the academy, though his support has waned of late over questions regarding security within the institution.

Frug walks up to the boatswain and says, "Sorry, sir! I'm still very disoriented, and my memory is hazy. Where do we go to get these items? We are looking first at equipment and weapons, then the welcome pack, then the other two.

Johnny Kidd stands by the door and snots a little as he waits impatiently, when a lightbulb moment hits him. "There be a map here somewhere I saw me Buckos, I am sure admin be near where we arrived. Shall we just keeping going down until we find it?" As he speaks he puts his head out into the hallway and seems to be looking for something.

As you make your way down to the administration, you hear a magical voice announcing: All purple rank security officers report to the Sky Dock for docking inspection.
Administration occupies the level above the Sea Dock. It includes a visitors’ lounge with a bar, guest rooms for visiting off-world dignitaries, and the academy reception. In the academy reception you a meet by a creature you have never seen before.
The thri-kreen receptionist Sor’kur is always busy, and there’s no one better suited for the job. Whether she’s sorting mail, passing messages, asking requests for assistance via several sending stones, or handing out welcome packs to new recruits, her multiple arms make it all look easy. Sor’kur has white chitin mottled with patches of brilliant blue, and matching blue eyes.

Acaelia was quite used to other species, she had seen many in Waterdeep and at the academy already. But this lady was quite unique. Having so many arms does seem useful indeed.

Then he is handed a pack containing:
* A red-level cadet uniform (plus spare), and a toiletry bag
* A 50 gp requisition voucher to spend at the academy stores
* A blue-level security helmet for visiting the Sky Dock during orientation
Next! Sor’kur barks, and one by one you are given your welcome package with a red cadet uniform in your size (more or less)

Johnny smiles his best smile as he receives the package and steps away to get dressed, returning moments later uniform on with ripped sleeves and chainmail over the top. He addresses Sor’kur, "Pardon Miss, but are you running a rig on me? This be a wee small." His old clothes folded neatly away into his backpack.

Torch accepts the bundle, and slings the colored security caps over his shoulder, where they’ll be visible. He’s not much for hats. He fishes the voucher out of the packet. 50gp… that’s more than he has seen in one place for a long time. "Woah." He looks up for signage pointing the way. "Looks like stores are that way!"

From administration you make your way up the stairs to the stores. By the store entrance, you are met by guards in purple uniforms. Each of them carries a shortsword with a green glowing blade. Torch is stopped Visitors are not allowed in on this floor.

Torch slides the red cap off his shoulder and flaps it down on his head and slips as much of the uniform on as possible over his clothes. "I’m a cadet. Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to wear the thingy." Torch looks to the guards, hopeful to rejoin the group.

Cadets can also spend their 50 gp requisition voucher to purchase additional equipment from any of the following sources:The Armor, Weapons, Adventuring Gear, or Tools tables in chapter 5 of the Player’s Handbook

No change is given for purchases, so that if a character doesn’t spend the full 50 gp, any gold left on their voucher is lost.
