I have a quick note for as we move along in the weird west, about money!

From what I've seen looking at different sources, Deadlands does a pretty good job representing real world costs for 1880s, and their meal costs are actually a good base.

I play Deadlands a lot in person so I've looked into it a bit--both using other systems like GURPS, and just googling :P

For an "average worker" in an industry such as manufacturing you could expect to make about $1.34 a day, and that'd be about $345 annually in 1880.

Just something all your characters would know, when we get to payouts for jobs and such. Thank you for your time!

Hey there folks! Good news and bad news. Good news is that I have found a new job that is far less stressful and better paying than my old one. The only negative thing is travelling to the office will eat up about two hours of my life, giving me less time for everything in general. To maintain that home-ostasis, I am trimming down my games and since I have the blessed fortunate of being able to critically fail in two of Dunko's games, I have decided to step out of this one since it is just starting.

I really do adore Deadlands and love the characters we have so far. I hope the monster hunting goes well and you all have a blast. Thank you Dunko for having me here, I will make sure my swashbuckler does you proud.

Just responding to this here, as it's a great question and one my in person group talks about a lot lol. In my opinion Savage Worlds is interesting when it comes to modifiers, when they meet the dice chain. Especially when you consider the things like familiarization, boost lower, cover, etc.

The way I see it modifier is almost always representing outside factors on the characters internal ability. So while Boost trait would raise a dice it would still have a -2 from outside factors.

That's the way we've always done it anyway, and granted I've only been using SWADE since it's release.
