The explosive will be equivalent to a grenade and you can buy any type of grenade you want to replace the charge when dropped (incendiary, EMP, smoke, etc.)
I don't know if it is only me or there is no price and stats for ordinary grenade in the rule book - that simply explodes ? At least, after longer search I didn't found it.

Besides: Ok, so noting my spider-like drone on my sheet and deducting 500eb from Neon's account...:) I will think about how many editional charges I can want to by, when the above will be resolved.

I think the base grenade is just the AP grenade. It just explodes hard.

Yeah AP and incendiary grenades make up the "basic" assortment in the core rule book.

Don't forget custom gear can be bought from Techs... Fragmentation grenades, shape charges, grapple guns, signal jammers, etc...

By the way, I kind of forgot about the "reputation" score in this game but all of you are at reputation 4 right now except Spacer who is at reputation 1 and Prophet who is at reputation 2 (no offense, it's based on chapters played).

Reputation combines with your Cool stat and a d10 to utilize the "facedown" ability which is basically intimidation (in DND terms).

I updated my reputation score but the character sheet doesn’t have it coded to influence any Cool checks, so do I just add it manually?

Yeah, if you ever want to "facedown" an opponent or NPC rather than shoot them you roll 1d10+Cool+Reputation.

Just to be clear, most (if not all) of us are rappelling down to the train, right?

Pretty sure everyone is but I never wanna assume

Ha, have I played enough games with KCC that I'm inheriting his dice curse?!

But can someone direct me where in the core book is price and stats for this AP grenade? I really can't find it :( Did even text search through the rule book...

I think you have retroactively adjusted reputation(post) score for Prophet - so I adjusted it to 2 on character sheet:)

Yeah it's not well sorted in the book, ammo types are on page 345 and each type lists what kind of ammo it's good for between arrows, bullets, grenades, rockets, slugs and shotgun shells. The price listed is for either one grenade or a quantity of 10 rounds of ammunition.

The damage for all deadly grenades is listed with the grenade launcher weapon and is 6d6. Like I said it's badly sorted.

Most of us use the Cyberpunk Red Companion app on our phone which sorts these things out in a better format, it's a free app if you're interested.

The core book is a mess! I don't know who approved the layout, but they need a swift smack to the back of the head.

This ends up being the most common complaint about core books in general I find.

Can PC in RED version of cyberpunk make multiple actions in one turn? I briefly checked the rule book, but didn't see such option.

Checked 2020 version and there is(p. 98):
"More then one action
You may perform more then one action act the penalty to each successive action".

Once I have watched a video by Seth Skorkowski about 2020 version and he told there it was really cool rules. As when PC are getting more and more chromed up, they get really high skill scores - so normally most "one action" things start to be very easy for them. But this rule allow to make them few things in one round and be very cool in meantime. Like running on the walls, while firing with gun in left gun to the one opponent and with a gun in the right to car tires and so on. That this rule made 2020 a really cool system that PC felt as real "enchanted" people that can do extraordinary things.

There is similar rule in D6 system - if you want to do more things in the same time (round) - you have penalty to all of them. I found it very elegant, but elastic and allowing to perform some cool RPs.

Is there something like this in Red version? What do you guys think about it?

Thanks - so buying 3 AP Arenades for Prophet for 100 eb each and nothing that grenade deployed by my spider-drone can make 6d6 damage.

Thanks! Installed the app, let's see how looking for things will go with it:)

Spider Drone Explosive - (d6)

Yeah 2020 had quite a bit more development in its ruleset and multiple actions (especially firing akimbo) is something I feel is missing from Red. Seems like they went with a greatly simplified system for Red at the expense of player agency.

While I would like to see dual wielding in Red I think we are committed to the rules as written at this point, though maybe after the chapter ends we will address dual wielding as a group.

For now it's just main action and move action each round. Keep in mind some weapons (handguns of heavy or lower, some melee weapons, and bare handed attacks) have a rate of fire of "2" and thus get two attacks per action.
Jul 20, 2023 3:35 pm
I'm sure some of you know this already, but it's nice to see it in writing sometimes. Dual-wielding has a few benefits in RED, but not as many as you would get in other games. With the increased rate of fire with some weapons, you can end up taking a single shot from two weapons. Perhaps you're a solo who's trying to engage someone in melee, while also trying to shoot someone from across the room. Or you're using different attack types in martial arts. Or you're running around with different ammo types.

I found the video:
https://youtu.be/tmdMnYm1zno?t=699 - so from 11:39 Seth starts to talk and describes wonderfully why those multi actions are so cool... sound really like a lot of fun!
