Nox's priority is taking account of defensive positions that could lead to an escape route should things go sideways.

As you get closer to the landing area you notice how quickly this was erected. The 5-meter posts that hold up the perimeter fence have been jammed into the ground and none of them appear to be plumb. The fence itself is rows of electrified lines .25 meters apart starting .25 meters from the ground and going about 3 meters up. Circling around towards the main gate, you can see the rows of ships, the 'temporary' landing area is nearly 100 meters deep and close to 300 meters long. On the side away from where you landed, there is an opening in the fence, about 5 meters. A couple of Imperial army stand on either side of the opening as a stream of loader and lifter droids move cargo onto waiting speeder trucks. It seems they are unloading some of the smaller ships while waiting to move the bigger ships to the starport.

AD-hoc turns his photoreceptors towards the fence. His instinct, or programming rather, really wants to start making improvements. For now though, he wants to see if the sub-par construction will allow them undetected access.
OOC:
So, I guess I want to know if it's possible to work on the fence to allow us to get it, or know how much damage AD-how would take if he just ripped a hole in it. I'm assuming Perception? (but would happily roll Mechanics instead :) )

Perception - fence analysis

4 Success, 2 Failure, 1 Threat

Total: 2 Success, 1 Threat

Tomas whispers, "This is Imperial? I thought their standards were higher than this." He also sees what Ad-Hoc is doing and finds some relief in it. He's glad for any chance not to have to kill anyone.

Ken points to the larger ships. 'They're waiting to move to the starport. So if we take one and make a break it'll take them a while to realise.'
Oct 20, 2022 1:22 am
"You want the big one Ken? I figure an empty little one might be easier. Depends on what we're trying to get, I suppose."

"Considering how fast they threw this fence up, maybe they didn't put much effort into safeguarding the power connections that electrify it. If we could find one of those connections, maybe we could cut the power."
Oct 20, 2022 12:46 pm
Just as Meebo is mentioning the power connections, AD-hoc spots a transformer box about 50m further down the fence. It's kind of in the open, but no one seems to be paying it much attention.
OOC:
AD-hoc - If you touch the wires (hands or possibly tools), the wire gets an easy attack on you with a base damage of 10. Successfully cutting or ripping at the wires would create a chance that the loose ends connect other wires and make sparks, etc. :) Depends on if your going for Stealth or Diversion.
OOC:
The red dots are the guards, the blue box is the transformer. You guys are near the bottom of the map, having just circled around to the gate side.

AD-hoc explains what he's found "Excellent idea Meebo. Do you think the guards would stop a droid that just walked by, claiming to be doing repairs?"
Oct 20, 2022 10:10 pm
OOC:
Do we have any intel on what there's likely to be here, what's worth taking?
Oct 21, 2022 11:27 am
OOC:
@Mephistophilis, Not really. The ships are coming and going at a fairly steady rate. The whole thing is to supply a military buildup here. So you could find anything from stacks of durasteel, crates of speeder bikes or cases of ration packs. It's very much a circus of activity inside the fence.
Oct 22, 2022 8:29 pm
OOC:
Then Ken's definitely looking for a big ship!
Oct 22, 2022 9:07 pm
Tomas keeps back, generally wary. He goes along with whatever the others are doing.
OOC:
I'm sorry I haven't posted, I just haven't had an idea of what to say

OOC:
i kind of want to risk just ripping the gate open, but that may be reckless. I just dont know if we can sneak by the guards to get to the box
Oct 23, 2022 2:53 am
OOC:
Are there any trees near the fence that are taller than it?

Ken looks sceptically at the droid. 'Do you think you could talk your way out of it if the guards challenged you? Maybe I should come too. Escort you.'

OOC:
@vespin, no worries. This is where we'd be brainstorming and asking a million questions if we were sitting around a table.
OOC:
There are a lot of droids and other folks, (humans in Imperial uniforms of various sorts) moving in and out of the gate area. The guards seem to be more interested in the in&out traffic than anything else. Ripping through the fence would be reckless and spectacular.

OOC:
We could walk the fenceline away from the guards. Just to see if we find a weak point of some other advantage.
Oct 23, 2022 5:30 pm
You guys could walk, and AD-hoc can go the other way? walking/sneaking past the guards to disable the power. A two pronged approach? Then we meet at whichever ship makes Ken's eyes turn into dollar signs

OOC:
@RAAMtentacles - Sorry, missed your question. No, the area was chosen for a landing zone for its lack of trees.
