sergei would talk to his friends and acquaintances to feel out whether there was buzz about the auction. He would pay special attention to whether other edgerunners were hired. He would encourage his teammates to do the same.He would also have Charlise take him by the venue during the day so he could put eyes on and figure out the best physical security boundaries, lines of sight from other roofs etc.

Flesher would want a list of everyone invited to the auction. Not sure if she could get that but she’d likely just ask for it using the reasoning that we need to know if someone unapproved tries to get in.

Of specific interest he learns that none of the fixers invited were acquaintances of Vikktor, it seems like his assistant wanted to put as much obfuscation into the sale as possible, no chance of buyer's remorse leading back to him.
