I think I will put that point into APP, bringing it to a whopping 40.

That's great. Get your character onto a sheet and apply it to the game. Add a portrait, a lot of players find 1920's photos which are plentiful online.

Does this work for my background? I can change things if it doesn't work.

Idealogy "Money is power, and I’m going to get all I can" (e.g. greedy, enterprising, ruthless).
Significant Person: My father who taught me the art of appraisal.
Why: Though he was a very skilled appraiser and merchant, he was very generous... perhaps too generous. Seeing his supposed friends abandon him to his debts before his death has taught me to put myself first, or no one else will.
Location: The grave of my father. Though we had disagreements, he made me who I am today.
Treasured possession: A plain ring with the initials B.G.D that was among the objects left behind by my late father.
Trait - Ladies’ man/seductress (e.g. suave, charming voice, enchanting eyes).

He is starting to seem like a sleezy business man. Maybe borderline con artist. Do whatever it takes to make money, but since he is the best at appraisal and dealing with antique objects that is what he focuses on.

For assets, I think he could afford a normal house and a Ford model a. He would carry a hand gun on him. As for other items, he would likely own a camera and a home telephone.

He definitely would have various contacts that he would use to verify different antiques. He would even go so far as to use a criminal fence.

From what I could find online, back then antiques were stuff from the colonial times and before. Considering that, I feel that he would work from his house when selling antiques, researching and trying to use his contacts to find people to buy his objects. He would also sell the newer objects to second hand stores or pawn shops.

Sounds good. For contacts I tend to leave it until you need it. If something comes up where you want to consult a specific specialist, if it appears in your suggested contacts we can use that. If you want to check if you have a contact outside your normal field, you’d make an appropriate skill check.
