Dinosaurs? Are you sure they aren't just some misshapen birds? Though that is a nice story to tell people. This tour idea is looking better and better. Harmon simply admires the art, his mind counting the profits that could be made from this.

How’s Leland holding up?

Ooc: Sanity is a cozy lie...

"Good lord," Leland says, shaking his head at the images before him. "This can't be real." He looks around at the others. "Can it? I mean, it's just a depiction of some myth or legend. A story meant to warn people away."
"This can't be real. It can't."

Rolls

Sanity Roll (55%) - (1d100)

(99) = 99

OOC:
So Fumbles are automatic on a roll of 00 and 96-100 if your skill is less than 50. As Leland is on 55, this isn't quite a fumble, so he loses 1d3 sanity. I'll roll it here.

Looks like you got maximum loss anyway!

Rolls

Leland sanity loss - (1d3)

(3) = 3

As Leland continues to take in the horrific images, his face goes ghostly pale. He begins to tremble slightly. "This can't be real," he mutters quietly to himself. "This can't be real. It can't."

Harmon looks quizzically at the tracks. I think a farmer lost some of his animals in here, I don't think any wild cattle or goats live around here. We might want to inquire into that when we leave.
He looks back to the others and asks, It is really suprising to see this sort of intricate carvings in this tunnel. I wonder how long these caves have been here. I thought they were made only a few decades ago, but i guess i was wrong. I hope to discuss this with Josh, he might have more information than he was letting on. Does anyone know which way he might be?

As Harmon asks the question, there is a sudden movement from the rocks behind him. A pair of gray scabrous arms grab both his arms from behind, dragging his back towards the rubble.

Initiatives!

Combat order in CoC is simply your DEX order, so here it is. Normally, anyone with a drawn and ready firearms gets +50 to their initiative

Strange I could swear there was some post about hearing noises and I respond by drawing a weapon. Man I'm going crazy !

"Good Lord," Leland cries, nearly jumping out of his skin. He impulsively draws the .45 he is carrying and points it in the direction of Harmon and the thing. He takes several steps toward the two and pauses, scared out of his wits.

Ooc: Is the grabbing of Harmon this things attack? Not sure if it's my go yet or not. But if so... Is Leland seeing anything other than what was described? Can he see what it is that has Harmon in it's grasp? Does he have a shot? Hopefully I haven't jumped the gun.

@Leland Max will get to act first, but you can move closer and see the thing.

OOC:
OK Max, to lay out your options - firing into melee (which you are essentially doing) means you fire with a penalty dice (so roll 1d100 and an additional d10) If you fumble, you hit your ally.

You can spend the round aiming which gives you a bonus die, therefore cancelling out the penalty.

You also have the opportunity of firing multiple shots if your weapon allows. (.45 revolver can fire up to 3). The second and third shot would call for an additional penalty roll)

Rolls

Sanity Check (55%) - (1d100)

(96) = 96

Max somewhat disgusted but with a steady arm fires on the horrible monster.

Rolls

Sanity Check (62%) - (1d100)

(13) = 13

Fire .45 (60%) - (1d100+1d10)

(7) + (5) = 12

Damage .45 - (1d10+2)

(2) + 2 = 4

OOC:
OK, so with a penalty we use the d10 as tens and take the worst result, so that's 07 or 57, just hit!
Max's shot clips the thing's shoulder, causing it to shriek and half release its grip.
