OOC:
Unfortunately that’s not possible. Your only exit , the pile of rubble at Leland’s back, is blocked.

"These tunnels existed for over a century... but just happen to collapse when we decide to look for further assistance," Percival observes dryly. "Forgive me my skepticism, gentlemen, but I'm not certain I believe this blockage is accidental... but I digress. We only have one way to go now..."
Nov 17, 2022 1:12 am
You have seen other collapses along the way, some blocking tunnels, so it’s possible this was natural, especially given the gunshots.

Though brave enough just moments ago, now confronted with the blockage and what appears to be an unstable companion in Leland, Gregory turns to stand with Percival.

"You are correct sir. But you and I both know these are not mere vagrants in these caverns."

He kneels down to inspect the dead body of the hairy ape.

"You are a medical doctor. What make you of this creature, this far beneath the surface?"

Pablo gets in close and takes a photo, with flash, of the creature. "Shield your eyes everyone. We should have some proof of these things. A shame we can't take it back with us."

Harmon will rush past the others towards Leland. Good heavens! Are you alright? Did that thing hurt you? Harmon will try to perform a first aid check on Leland.

He harrumphs slightly before taking a knee at the side of the tunnel dweller. The beam from his helmet bathing the lifeless form in a yellow glow, Dr. Cross places the bird cage to his side and, after rolling the body onto its back, uses his KA-BAR to poke around and check what he can.

"You understand, of course, that without performing a proper autopsy we are unlikely to get real answers... but, let us see what there is to be seen...
OOC:
Rolled both Medicine and Biology preemptively, as both seemed relevant, so just use or ignore as needed.

Edit: Burning 1 luck for the Medicine roll.

Leland answers none of Harmons questions. Although he has lowered the .45 he still has expressions ranging from horror, bewilderment, and confusion crossing his face. He takes quick glances around as if expecting something to jump out at any moment. "He's still out there then?"

Max tries to calm Leland

The one who attacked you is dead, but we are still in a dire position. We will need you to stay calm, breath gently and focus on the situation. Yes we have found some strange creature, and we learned a bit about our past, somethings that are not natural to us, but remember any discovery is not natural at first.

We are stuck in tunnels, but there is certainly other exits. I will be frank, their is a chance ths creature was no alone, now look carefully at it and you will see despised its ugly, and quite scary, apparence it was a living creature not an apparition or somthing from demonic world. Just think about the first explorers and what they must have think witnessing their first gorilla.

It is not more than this an ugly unknown creature living in caves. Look at it, it is a rather interesting discovery you'll see it is quite dead.

I'm not sure which roll would suit best, so I roll both, you'll choose

The creature’s skull has an elongated forehead,
large eyes, and pronounced, snout-like jaw, and the arms are longer than those of the average human.

Otherwise, the thing has the characteristics of a human. Those that got close enough to the thing that grabbed Harmon realise this is not the same thing.
OOC:
Sanity checks from everyone but Leland please.

(Percival, no need for the Luck, biology was enough.)

Max does not seems that well, and after some effort at staring finishs by looking elsewhere.

It is true that the creature is a bit disturbing and looks unnatural, I guess after a while it will seem natural to us.
