Using smelling salts, Percival is able to get Max back to consciousness, his left arm is bandaged and slung to stop him moving it.

The doctor also gives Leland a calming tonic.

With a look to each other man's eyes, and then a perusal of the room, Gregory sighs.

"Gentlemen, this room fills me with unease. We must continue on our journey or fear continued infighting and despair. We must not give in, men."
OOC:
Rolling persuade to try to get everyone to agree to continue moving.

OOC:
As everyone gets to their feet, it's obvious Leland doesn't want to touch the axe anymore. You can either remove the head for him to rely on the handle or someone will need to support him as you move on.
Dec 4, 2022 1:45 pm
Max is not in a good mood, and after thanking Harmond, he holds the pistol with his valid hand and fall back saying nothing.
Dec 6, 2022 12:29 am
Ooc: Barring the axe would there be anything scattered about Leland could use as a cane?

Leland, finally struggling to his feet, begins looking about for a replacement for the axe.
Dec 6, 2022 12:44 am
OOC:
Nothing lying around. You could detach one of the pipes from the wall at the risk of dilodging one of the heads.
Dec 6, 2022 2:52 am
Ooc: Naw, that's okay. Leland's having a bad enough day as it is.

"I hate to ask," Leland says looking about almost sheepishly, "I know I've been more hindrance than help, but would one of you chaps mind breaking the head off of that axe?" He glances at the blood covered object and visibly shudders. "I'm sorry, I can't bring myself to touch it."
Dec 6, 2022 3:33 am
"Someone will have to help you for now, but considering our circumstances I can't justify breaking a perfectly good tool we may need. It's bad enough we left the rope," Percival counters, as he collects the axe and secures it to his ruck again.

OOC:
Any volunteers to help Leland?
Dec 6, 2022 7:49 pm
Pablo saddles up to Leland and places an arm around him. "I can help carry you for now, until we find something suitable lying about to better assist."
Dec 7, 2022 5:46 am
"Thank you," Leland says to Pablo accepting the offered assistance. "Add another name to the pints I owe." Leland tries to smile but it comes across more grimace than smile

A tunnel heads off south from here, the same direction as tunnel that led you here, so you follow that. into the darkness. It branches off a couple of times, and again you hear scuttling noises echoing around the tunnels.
OOC:
Do you want to keep heading south or go down one of the branches to the east?

Max still in a foul mood speaks trying to be as dispassionate as he can.

May be turning left (east) would bring us back toward the house and a possible exit ?
Dec 7, 2022 1:13 pm
"Sounds like a good a plan as any. Anything to get us out of this infierno."
Dec 7, 2022 1:28 pm
Keep an eye out for any more of those creatures. I think it is now a shoot first, ask questions later type senario.

Harmon has his gun out and ready to fire.
Dec 7, 2022 4:04 pm
Leland takes the time to Tuck his .45 into his waistband and drops the Derringer into a coat pocket.
Dec 7, 2022 4:21 pm
Max follow the passage tothe east, weapon in hand.
Dec 7, 2022 11:35 pm
The passage to the east leads to the largest chamber yet. Strange fungi and lichen fill this great room, some of the fungi stalks tower over you. A warm moist mist sprays from apertures in the ceiling every 10 minutes.

A moment after entering, two of the short hairy creatures appear and seem to be tending the fungi. The two turn and look at you, appearing not to be aggressive but curious, then go back to working.
OOC:
The creatures incur 0/1d4 sanity loss following a sanity roll

Note Max and Pablo have already lost three, so can't lose more than one more, as once you suffer the max sanity, you become immune at least for the scenario)

Gregory peers at the creatures, his breath quickening slightly, his hand moving as casually as possible towards his own gun to ensure he has it ready without frightening the creatures.

Upon seeing the creatures Leland's breath catches in his throat. He stares in both wonder and terror, afraid to move or make a sound, else the creatures attack. The pain of his leg is all but forgotten.

Ooc: I don't think Leland has succeeded on a roll all game. Poor fella.
